Blue as The Ocean

Chapter 6

I woke up next to a fire. I opened my eyes and saw the 4 dragons looking over me.

"Why did you knock me out! You are my mother's guests!! I am her daughter!" I yelled

"Sorry Glory got out of control." the weird SandWing said cheerfully. "I'm Sunny!"

"Who are the others?" I asked.

"The MudWing is Clay, the RainWing who was supposed to be a SkyWing is Glory, and the NightWing is Starflight." she said pointing to each one of them.

"Can I go back to my mother?" I asked nervously.

"Yes of course!" Sunny answered.

I got up and sprinted out of the cave and I flew up to the top of the Summer Palace where I knew my mother would be waiting. And just as I suspected there she was giving me a dirty look when suddenly Anemone barrel rolled into me, wrapping her wigs around me.

"WHERE WERE YOU LAPIS!" Mother shouted. "YOU COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED!!"

"Sorry the RainWing got nervous and knocked me out not knowing I was your daughter. Sorry mother." I mumbled.

"That's it! You will not be going anywhere without me and your harness will always stay on." she roared in anger.

"No! I'm a year old mom! I can fend for myself!" I protested. "For three moons sake Anemone is two and she has a harness and I bet Tsunami will have one by the end of the day!"

"Lapis! You listen to your mother!" Mother roared in anger.

"I'M DONE BEING TREATED LIKE A TADPOLE! I WANT TO SEE THE WORLD!" I roared back, tears streaming down my face.

"LAPIS GO TO YOUR ROOM!" she roared.

I flew out of the Summer Palace and dove into the water. I swam down and through all the rooms until I reached mine. I wanted to scream. I swam into my bed and buried myself in the bedding. I suddenly felt a tapping on my wing.

"Hello?" I flashed, uncovering myself.

There was Tsunami looking over me. She grabbed my talon and pulled me up to the surface.

"I'm so glad you're finally here!" I said hugging Tsunami tightly.

"I didn't know I had sisters! This is amazing!" she exclaimed.

"So how are you liking the palace?" I asked.

"It's great! But I'm scared that mother will have me in a harness by the end of the day!" she chuckled.

There was a splash and my mother's head popped up. She looked kind of upset but I smiled to brighten her mood. She clipped my harness back on.

"We must go attend something, my darlings." she said. A moment later Anemone's head popped up.

I followed her and she swam down and out of the room. We swam through the tunnel and up into the ocean. I could feel the sun shining on my scales and we flew out of the water. We flew up to the top of a cliff and I gasped. There was a dead SkyWing at the bottom of the cliff. She looked like she was stabbed through the chest.

"Your majesty, this is the SkyWing we were talking about." one of the guards who came with us said. I looked at Tsunami and her face was full of worry.

"Tsunami? Is something wrong dear?" my mother asked.

"Um. Uh..nothing is wrong mother." she said nervously.

"Guards please dispose of her body" mother said flying up into the air. I flew up with her and so did the rest of my sisters. "Darlings. Queen Blister will be visiting again today to meet the Dragonet Of Destiny so we need to get ready."

We flew down into the tunnel and we flew back up to the Summer Palace. I could see the guards escorting Queen Blister up to the feasting area of the Summer Palace. We flew into the area and sat down at the table. The Dragonets Of Destiny were already sitting down.

"Good evening Coral." Blister said. "The guards have informed me that you found a dead SkyWing in your territory."

"Yes. I asked my daughter who just showed up and she said she didn't know who the SkyWing was." Mother said.

"Oh is that so...Tsunami? Do you really not know who that SkyWing was? Did she feel like family?" Blister chuckled.

"I did know that SkyWing." Tsunami mumbled. "She was one of our guardians who raised us."

"Kestrel is dead!" Sunny shrieked. I watched as the SandWing went pale and started sobbing uncontrollably.

"Now Coral. May I speak to Lapis alone please?" Blister asked. I started to tense up and shrunk down into my chair.

"Yes, why of course!" Mother said unclipping my harness.

Blister covered me with her wing as she stepped out of the chair. She shot me a glare and then said:

"Did you kill your half sisters?"

"No I would never!" I whispered. Blister let go of me and sat down back at her chair grinning.

I quickly sat down and ate some of the octopus on the table. I had always wondered why Blister hated Ice and Skua so much. I mean half of them are from the enemy. I also don't get why Blister isn't mad at mother, I mean for three moons sake mother had an affair with the enemy. She should be mad at mother , not my sisters.

"So it's so nice to meet you Dragonets Of Destiny!" Blister said cheerfully. Tsunami shot her a glare and continued to eat her squid. "So where is the SkyWing?"

"The egg and our guardian were thrown off a cliff. So Webs grabbed a RainWing egg." Tsunami explained.

"Well. I'm going to go rest up in my cave." Blister said walking towards the edge then she jumped off and flew into her cave.

"Guards please escort the Dragonets back to their cave." Mother said. Shark and the other guards escorted them back to the cave.

"Mother?" I asked. "Why does Blister hate Skua and Ice so much?"

"They are half IceWing darlings." she began. "They are from the enemy,"

"We need to get to the council meetings darling. Tsunami!" she said. Tsunami soon appeared after a few seconds.

We flew out of the Summer Palace and over to where we had a couple meetings. Everyone was already there patiently waiting for mother to tell them to eat. I sat down in my pool and so did my other sisters. I looked around at all of the familiar faces and smiled. This is where I wanted to be my whole life. I love this. I watched as Tsunami started slurping down some octopus tentacles. Everyone gasped and so did I.

"I'm so sorry about my daughter. You all may eat." mother said.

"Now I must report that two of our soldiers were attacked." Shark said as two bloody and burnt SeaWings walked in.

I turned pale as I saw all of the blood dripping onto the floor. I felt sick and wanted to throw up.

"Mama I'm going to step out." I said.

"If you must." she said, unclipping my harness. I left and dove into the water and down into my room.

I stopped because I heard something moving. I peeked through the door and watched as my father, Gill, was talking to Skua in aquatic.

"You will never be one of us!" he flashed. Then she struck her across the snout.

She fell to the ground screaming and clutching her snout. She looked over at my face and she blacked out. I ran hoping father wouldn't catch me. I hid behind the door until he left. I swam in and hugged Skua. Her face was scratched and the blood was making the water cloudy. I didn't want to be seen with her so I left. I swam into my room and fell asleep in my bed.
