I decided to meet up with Hiyori and she recommended me a book. It was mystery as expected though she didn't say anything about the rumors- er- news going around of me.
"Thanks for the book."
"It's no problem, Shinjiro-kun." She gave me a small but cute smile.
"Well, I guess I'll be-"
There was a loud, dinging sound from our phones, that meant we'd received a message from the school. Usually, it was a message with new instructions to follow, or some kind of modification to an event.
"Hm? What's this?" Hiyori asked.
"No clue-"
Suddenly, an announcement could be heard throughout the ship.
"Attention. This is an announcement to all students. All students should have received a message from the school, as indicated in the contact line. Please check your individual mobile devices and follow the instructions accordingly. In the event that you did not receive a message, we apologize for the inconvenience. Please go to the nearest faculty member for assistance. Because the contents of the message are extremely important, please do not miss it. We repeat—"
Seems like things are starting to pick up.
"That was about the message we just got, right?" Hiyori asked.
"I guess so."
I pulled out my phone and saw the following message:
A special test will begin soon. Place gather in the designated room at the designated time. Anyone who arrives later than ten minutes after start time may be penalized. Please gather in Room 304 on the third deck by 19:30 today. Because it takes about thirty minutes to reach the area, we ask that you please use the restrooms now if necessary. Either silence your phone or turn it off and make your way over.
Room 304 on the third deck huh? 19:30?
I'm not a fan of military time but I'm pretty sure that's 7:30 PM. It was currently 6:58 PM so we have some time.
"Another special test?" Hiyori exclaimed.
"I prefer to call it a special exam."
"A special exam does sound more formal... I suppose I'll get moving. Have a nice day, Shinjiro-san."
Eh? San? Why did she change the honorifics? I'm not too knowledgeable about it but it's kind of like Miss or Mister, right?
"Farewell, Shiina." I waved at her while her back is turned to me.
Anyway, from what I remember, Ayanokouji was in the Rabbit Group. My designated time and room is different from his so it seems like I'm in a different group from his. The only similarity is that my designated room is quite literally one deck above from Ayanokouji's.
Ding!
I checked my phone again and this time, it was from Ayanokouji.
Ayanokouji: [Since everyone pretty much got the message and announcement, Horikita wanted me to tell you what designated time and room you got.]
Shinjiro: [Interestingly, I got Room 304 at 19:30. What about you?]
I wanted to appear natural and pretend that I didn't knew his placements.
Ayanokouji: [I got Room 204 at 18:00. Weird, I got 204 yet my time is before yours. Well anyway, Horikita and Kushida both got Room 206 at 20:40.]
I see. Now using basic deduction, Ayanokouji is in the Rabbit Group while Horikita and Kushida are in the Dragon Group. Since both groups are basically next to each other in a numerical order, as well as the zodiac sign Rabbit being before Dragon, I could be able to find out which group I'm in.
Unfortunately, I need more information.
Shinjiro: [Can you tell me which room and time Minami got? Minami Setsuya from our class]
Ayanokouji: [Eh? Why?]
Shinjiro: [Please.]
...
After 2 minutes, Ayanokouji responded back.
Ayanokouji: [I asked Kushida to ask Minami what room and time she got.]
Shinjiro: [And?]
Ayanokouji: [She has Room 210 and her designated time is 18:45]
Interesting.
Shinjiro: [Thanks, sorry if that was a weird favor.]
Ayanokouji: [No problem.]
I was about to close the app before he sent me another message.
Ayanokouji: [Horikita said to send her a report of your meeting time once it finishes.]
Cliche of Horikita. Instead of replying back, I purposely didn't so it showed that I read the message. I'm sure Ayanokouji knows.
"So, my theory was partially correct. I still need info on the Cow group though."
I haven't read volume 4 but I've did see the whole zodiac animal groups and which students are in it.
Unfortunately, I've only seen most of the important cast. Ayanokouji and basically the entire Mar- rabbit group. Most of the Dragon Group, Koenji and Minami which was mentioned.
Other than that, I'm kind of going in a bit clueless...
