"Now this is awkward...", I blabbered.
Here I am, still finding it hard to believe the elevator has stopped working all of a sudden. Another thing hard to believe is I am standing beside my neighbour. His name is Charlie, the brunette man with round head, squash-able chin and cool skull tattoo on his right arm.
"Well... Let's hope for the best, shall we?", said Charlie with a wink. "Have faith in Him." I nodded as I thought to myself, why not have a conversation with him, since I have not get to know this friendly, "have faith" dude.

"Why did you moved to this kind of run down apartment?", I asked.
"To experience city life, I guess.", Charlie replied with one of the cutest smile I have ever seen. "Whether the apartment is run down or not, it doesn't matter.", he continuedWe sat down and had a face-to-face conversation, like having a meditation but a meditation in the elevator. I have to admit not everyone's personality is like Charlie. Charlie is a down to earth man, simply contented with his life (it is funny that he decided to move here since he is a country boy) and does not care what others think of him.
"People may just pull you down, but you know what, you got to keep your head up and prove to them you are better than them.", said Charlie. He giggled, "You have to live your life for yourself, not for others, Brooke my friend."
After what seem to be a 15 minutes or so conversation, I was super glad the elevator was once again powered up and it took us down to the ground level. I stay at level 10 while Charlie stay at level 7.
"Well, Brooke, it was a pleasure talking to you," said Charlie. "This elevator conversation is worth remembering, good day my neighbour!", he walked out with delight.
I smiled back before he completely left the building. The moment Charlie left, I knew I found someone worth connecting to.
This is just the beginning...

This story uses photos and fictitious places to show its timeline. Most of the places were inspired and changed based on where I visited. So if you ever wonder why does the story even uses random names and locations, I just wanna keep it simple and generally fiction.
P.S. The city never sleeps - can be any city or town. ;)
