Months later...
"Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you the husband and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Holden.", said Reverend Timothy as he finished up the wedding ceremony vows. The crowd soon got up on their feet as they congratulated me and my new husband.
We were married during the summer in the capital city of the Italian region of Tuscany, Florence. Well known as the centre of medieval European trade and finance and one of the wealthiest cities of all time, Florence is considered the birthplace of Renaissance and has been called the Athens of Middle Ages.
It was Charlie's idea of getting married in Florence since he travelled there once for his business trip in getting the finest wines for his winery business. I, too agreed to married at the beautiful city since I am a rather huge fan of Renaissance era.
We were again congratulated by our wedding guests at the reception lunch including Mr. Owen who has been the owner of the deceased Collin's house as part of the will if he passed on. Charlie's twin brother, Alden also came to congratulate us as he hold his son's hand. "Bear a nephew or niece for my son, he keeps complaining he's bored.", he jokingly said.
While I was firmly shaking each and every hand of the guests, I was surprised to see Mr. Henry Gordon and his former colleague, Mr. Adam Morgan at the reception. I never knew they were really coming since I last saw them who were in charge of finding out my family's murderer.
"Congratulations, Brooke.", Mr. Gordon said. "Your family would be certainly proud of you."
"Thank you, Mr. Gordon. They sure are if there was a closure."
Mr. Morgan stepped in, "You shouldn't worry about that. Today is your day. Once again congratulations!"
Mr. Morgan was right. I have the rights to be happy since it is my wedding day and even though my family would never get the justice they deserved, I was sure they would be happy to see their daughter or sister getting married to a man she truly loved.
I thanked Mr. Gordon and Mr. Morgan again before I left to join Charlie in entertaining the other guests.
