"How come I never heard Charles Holden even have a twin brother?", Collin asked Alden. Ever since I told him about our Charlie duplicate, he just kept asking and asking until the point I asked him to come over to my house.
"I didn't even know I had one.", Alden answered. "We were separated since birth." It sucks when one has to be separated after being born. Charlie took the hard way of life while Alden, he was raised in a lucky rich family and now he was an owner of a restaurant. Now he sounded so familiar...
"Would you please let me go?", he asked. "I have a wife. Been with her for nearly two years."
At this point, Collin chuckled, why would we just simply let go of Alden, our only hope to finding Charlie. Collin then went out of the house and came back with some tools. I think I knew what was coming next.
"Simple."
"You will cooperate with me and I will let you off."
------
"Do you think we are being harsh about the situation?", I asked Collin. We were travelling to the location where Charlie was held at. Ever since Collin tormented Alden, he was so super scared. He was now kept in the car trunk for all I know.
"Harsh? There is a life at stake, Brooke.", Collin replied. "Your fiancé, hello."
"Yes I know.", I said. Obviously, the answer was in my face. I should have known. Collin was more emotional than me.
------
I did not spoke a single word to Collin after that whole conversation. I observed the night sky and it was beautiful in every way. The night is always beautiful with danger along the way. The terror lurk among the people and in the darkness.
The moment we arrived at the place, we stick to the plan of rescuing Charlie. My job was just to walk straight with Alden holding in my captivity. For Collin, he would just enter at the right time. Go, he mouthed. You have my back. And I walked.
Alden and I continued to walk straight into the beast's den. It was cold and dark, even the torchlight I had could not get rid of the lurking shadows. Who knows, maybe it could be a death trap to lure me in to see my fiancé.
Just as I was about to enter the door in front of the path we followed, Alden shouted, "Watch out!" and I missed it. I found myself lying on the cold ground, my eyes found its way to look up and I saw a mysterious figure standing in front of me.
The more I looked, the more blurry I became. The vision slowly drained away and turned into darkness compared to one sleeping.
------
"Wake up, sleepyhead!", a voice called out as a bucket of ice water threw at me. Holy shit, I shivered at the thought of the voice. My guess the voice was a woman. I slowly opened my eyes, only to see the real Charlie in front of me, looking tortured as his eyes looked as though he took some sleeping drugs and did not work.
"Brooke, are you alright?", the blurred Charlie said. Before he could speak further, a man came forward and gave a few blow to his face. Shit, shit, shit, what were they even doing? My poor fiancé, I could not even looked at what was happening.
"Enough of the lovey dovey session!", the female voice exclaimed. "Back to business!" Slowly, the woman made her way to me as the sound of her high heels echoed the whole dungeon looking place. She squatted down in an elegant manner. "Hello, best friend."
"Sheena?"
