“A few weeks ago, I got bit by a vampire, and then I turned into one…” I told them, taking a step back.
“Oh, that makes sense…” Iida trailed off.
“So you’re okay after the bite, right kero?” Asui asked.
“Yeah, I’m fine. It’s been difficult dealing with it, but I’m fine other than that,” I told them. They seemed to understand.
“Well, if you ever need our help with anything, you can ask us,” Iida stated.
“Yeah, we’re your friends after all. You don’t need to hide anything from us,” Uraraka commented.
“How long have you hid this from us?” Yaoyorozu, still concerningly, asked.
“A little over 3 weeks,” I told them, looking up at them. They all had surprised and concerned expressions on their faces, except Izu for obvious reasons.
“Are you gonna tell the teachers,” Yaoyorozu asked again.
“I’m planning to tell Aizawa-sensei,” I told them. “And… the rest of the class…” I looked down.
“Well if you need us, we’ll support you,” Asui told me. I smirked slightly, thankful that I had their support in this.
“Thank you,” I told them. They all smiled.
“Of course. Did you think we wouldn’t be okay with this or something?” Uraraka asked. I looked down.
“He thought you guys would be scared of him or hate him because of this,” Izu told them. A wave of sadness washed over the room.
“Todoroki, don’t ever think that,” Yaoyorozu told me. “We would never hate you or be scared of you because of this.”
“Me drinking blood doesn’t scare you or bother you in the slightest,” I looked up, being honest about my thoughts.
“Of course not, Todoroki,” Uraraka helped. “In my eyes, it’s just something you need to survive, kinda like water.”
“She’s right,” Asui chimed in. I glanced down slightly, glad they were okay with it. Yes, they did admit that it didn’t bother them, but that didn’t tell me how they truly felt. Some of them did think it was kinda weird, or more so creepy.
My senses could be helpful for figuring things like that out, however, within this cramped area with multiple people, it was almost suffocating. I didn’t go insane since I had blood not even an hour ago, but the scent was still strong, and this small room didn’t help, especially with 5 other people inside of it.
“Can we go to class now?” I glanced up more at everyone. Izu seemed to notice that I was rather uncomfortable with being in the small room, and took it as a sign that I needed to leave.
“Of course, I almost forgot about class actually,” Izu giggled, playing it off. We left the small room, of course, our classmates following behind. We made small talk on the rest of the way to class, not mentioning my vampirism, which I highly appreciated. No one asked any more questions, so far, which I liked since it annoyed me when people asked millions of questions.
That would be one of the things I deeply despised about this whole vampire reveal thing. I’d have to answer tons of questions, which I always hated doing.
Izu had also given me back my hoodie before we left, so I didn’t have to worry too much about the hurtful, blinding sunlight.
Luckily, when we all got there, Aizawa-sensei wasn’t there yet, as he was typically late to class, which for today, was appreciated.
Many people in the class looked at me strangely, and almost seemed concerned. I ignored them to start out with, since they’d know why I looked like this soon. I’m relatively sure that some of my classmates thought that this was some kind of prank or costume.
I didn’t go straight to my seat right away as when Aizawa-sensei came in, I wanted to tell him right away. So, as soon as I saw him, I asked to speak to him before class started.
We went outside of the classroom, closing the big door that read “1A.”
“What did you need to talk to me about, Todoroki?” Aizawa-sensei asked.
“Well… I’m planning on telling the class this, but I felt like it’d be better to tell you before I reveal it to the whole class…” I looked up at him, and to be honest, he seemed slightly surprised, but also kinda concerned and questionable about the situation and my sudden change in appearance. “I got bit by a vampire about 3 weeks ago… so-”
“So you turned into one,” he finished. I nodded, glancing down again. “Well, thank you for telling me. I think it would also be the best if the staff knew too. We could help you.”
“That’d be highly appreciated,” I told him.
“Also, if you ever need to tell me anything, you can at any time,” He told me with a small grin. I nodded.
“Thank you,” I told him.
“Of course, now go tell your classmates. I’m sure they’d wanna know why you’ve been acting strange for the last 3 weeks,” he told me. I nodded, and turned towards the door of class 1a.
I walked into class, my head down and hands in my pockets as Aizawa-sensei walked in behind me.
“Okay, settle down,” he told them, as everyone settled down and took a seat. “Todoroki has something to tell you all, and I suggest you all listen. Don’t act rude towards him, and if there’s any insulting or bad behavior towards him because of this, you get expelled.” The room went cold after those words.
Aizawa-sensei looked at me, signaling me that it was my turn to now tell everyone about my condition, as I called it.
“Okay so…” I started, kinda at a loss for words. It was kinda difficult to find words to ease into something like this, so I just told them straight out. “The reason I’ve been so distant and quiet lately, is because I’m a vampire…” I heard an audible gasp wash across the room.
“Wait how?!?” Kaminari asked, getting up from his seat, along with a few others.
“Yeah, how can you just turn into a vampire out of nowhere?” Kirishima chimed in.
“This must be some kind of prank?! There’s no way you can be a real vampire!” Sero added on in disbelief. I looked up, mostly everyone's eyes slightly widening at my appearance.
“Settle down,” Aizawa-sensei demanded. Everyone sat down again. Some seemed afraid, and others seemed concerned.
“It’s true… about 3 weeks ago, I got bit by a vampire. It’s known that if you survive the bite, you turn into one… which is what happened to me…” I looked down again. The room ran silent for a little while, until Ashido spoke up.
“So… you’re telling us that you got bit by a vampire, and then turned into one?” I nodded slightly, still looking down. “Why didn’t you tell us when it happened, instead of hiding yourself away?”
This is when Izu got up from his seat, and walked over to me. Most people looked at him (except Bakugou, he just scoffed and looked away). When he got up to me, he put a hand on my shoulder, and looked me in the eyes, me glancing up at him.
“Do you want to tell them why?” he kindly asked. I shook my head slightly.
“Not yet…” I told him truthfully. I honestly didn’t know why I didn’t wanna tell them, possibly because I didn’t wanna deal with questioning. Maybe I didn’t wanna deal with their pity, who knows. All I knew was that I didn’t wanna tell them, at least not right now.
“Okay, do you want me to stay up here with you while you finish?” he asked, his hand still on my shoulder. I nodded and gave him a small smirk.
“That’d be helpful,” I told him. He just smiled, and stood beside me, me looking back up at everyone.
“I just didn’t know how to tell everyone,” I lied. I mean, it wasn’t like it was a complete lie, I was more so scared of telling them though. Oh well, nothing I can really do about it now.
“True, I mean, that’s kinda a big situation for anyone to tell,” Kirishima said. “I think it’s very manly of you to tell us!”
“Yeah, it was very brave!” Denki chimed in. I smirked slightly.
“Thanks guys…” I thanked them.
“Okay okay, stop with the sappy shit,” Bakugou rolled his eyes. “You’re still able to fight, right?”
“Yes… I can…” I told him truthfully.
“Well then I challenge you to a spar,” he said, smirking. “I’m easily gonna win!” he said proudly. I smirked, taking this as a challenge, and teleported right next to him.
“Good luck with that,” I stated, smirking next to him. The class seemed surprised by my sudden move.
“HA, I don’t need luck! I just know that I’m gonna win,” he said, smirking and prideful about his words. Bakugou and I always had this type of relationship, big rivals, but also very competitive against each other. We weren't mean about it, but we both loved fighting as it resulted in knowing what we needed to work on and stuff like that.
I looked at Aizawa-sensei, waiting for an answer whether we can go spar or not.
“I don’t care what you guys do for today's class period, just don’t wake me up,” he said, and with that, he was in his sleeping bag, sleeping. I looked back at Bakugou, smirking as he smirked back at me. Izu walked over and put a hand on my shoulder.
“Sho, don’t go too hard on him,” he told me. I looked back at him.
“I won’t, don’t worry,” I smirked. Bakugou took this offensively.
“HA, what do you mean “don’t go too hard on him?” Come at me with all you’ve got Icy-hot, and DON’T hold back!” He stated, smirking.
“Yeah yeah, whatever you say pomeranian,” I said, rolling my eyes and turning away from the scene.
“WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL ME?!?!” He boomed, running towards me and about to explode. I smirked, this being an easy one to dodge as I just teleported behind him from where he was gonna explode me.
“Too simple,” I stated, smirking. He turned around, seeming VERY pissed off. “Save your explosions for the arena, you’ll need them,” I smirked, taking Izu’s hand and walking towards the arena, where we normally fought. I felt him glare at me, then walking quickly towards me.
“Don’t walk in front of me, Icy-hot,” he scoffed, taking the lead as I rolled my eyes.
“Whatever,” I replied, still holding Izu’s hand. I was clearly gonna have the advantage, as no one knew about my powers, except some knew about the bat thing. They did know that I could now teleport, but other than those two, they didn’t expect me to be able to do anything else regarding powers.
They didn’t know that I could read their minds if I wanted to, or that I could tell what they were about to do next. The second one would be my biggest advantage to Bakugou. Being able to tell what move he was gonna take next, gave me a huge advantage since he was sometimes very unpredictable. My senses would also help with that.
Luckily, the sun had been covered by the dark clouds, which for me, was perfect. I changed into my gym uniform, as I didn’t have to worry about getting burned from the sunlight. The clouds were so dark that there wasn’t even a whole lot of brightness from the sun, which I was thankful for as my eyes wouldn’t be hurting as much.
The gym uniforms didn’t have pockets, which kinda annoyed me as I had a habit of slipping my hands in my pockets.
“Give me everything you’ve got, and don’t even think about holding back,” He told me, smirking.
“I’m not even gonna lie about this, if I didn’t hold back, I’d beat you within seconds,” I said with a straight face.
“What lies,” he scoffed. “I can easily beat you, Icy-hot. I don’t care what kind of extra powers you have, use them how you’d like, but just know that I’m gonna easily beat you,” he said with pride. This made me giggle.
“Funny,” I said. “If I can beat my father, who’s the #1 hero right now, within seconds, then you’ll be easy to beat.” Everyone's eyes went wide, as I just realized what I said.
