“What do you mean you can ‘sense’?” Touya asked, clearly confused. My father also seemed slightly confused, but at the same time, interested.
“Since the vampire thing, my senses have enhanced A LOT, which can be very annoying at times, but are very useful at others. I can tell when someone’s lying or not, just by the way they’re acting or feeling,” I explained. “I don’t exactly try to, it’s just something that naturally happens, and I can’t really control it.”
“Interesting… Any other cool things happen? I mean, other than that and the teleporting thing?” Natsuo asked in great interest. Everyone else seemed kinda intrigued as well”
“I have 3 other abilities actually,” I told them all.
“Such as?” My father urged on. I sighed.
“One of them is the ability to turn into a bat. It’s not that useful, unless I wanna go flying, which I do sometimes,” I told them. Izu especially, seemed very intrigued.
“OH! Can you show me?!!” He asked, at this point, fanboying. I sighed, and in one, quick and swift motion, turned into a small, flapping bat.
“Cool I guess,” my father commented. I landed on Izu’s head, making him blush slightly.
Luckily there wasn’t too much light, so it didn’t bother me that much. It was mainly because we were in a hallway.
“That is cool,” Natsuo commented.
“Like I said, it’s nice when I wanna calm down and wanna go on a midnight flight,” I told them. I flapped my way off of my boyfriend’s head, and turned back into my regular self.
“I guess that would be nice, especially with your situation. I could see how that would be calming,” Izu muttered cutely.
“Mhm. The second one I got is the ability to read minds.”
“How did you know when you got this one?” Touya smirked at me.
“I was in class one day and looking at Izu, and these voices popped into my head of what he was probably thinking at the time.” I turned to him, his whole face red. “And don’t worry, it wasn’t anything bad. It was a lot of thinking about All Might, which didn’t surprise me in the slightest.” He nodded.
“Isn’t that kinda creepy,” Natsuo asked mischievously.
“I guess, but I don’t use that one because of that reason. It’s creepy, and I don’t wanna be a creep,” I told them all truthfully.
“What’s the last one?” My father asked sternly.
“The last one I got was the ability to predict someone’s next move,” I told them all. My father seemed quite interested in this one. I turned to face him. “Which is why I beat you most of the time while training. It’s kinda easy to be honest.”
“You don’t always win though,” he told me back, his arms crossed.
“That’s because I didn’t want anything to become obvious, otherwise I could’ve easily beat you,” I told him. He scoffed.
“Nice going little bro,” Natsuo said. I smirked and nodded in confidence.
“Anything else?” Touya asked.
“Nothing too major. I mean, my senses enhanced along with my speed and strength a LOT,” I told them. “I also can’t see my reflection, which is kinda annoying.”
“So then how do you know what you look like?” Natsuo asked.
“Because my appearance changed right away, and it took a few days for me to lose my reflection,” I told the group truthfully. They seemed to understand.
“I guess that makes sense,” Touya commented, crossing his arms.
“Either way, it’s VERY AMAZINGLY COOL, and I love the one where you turn into a bat,” Izu fanboyed. I blushed slightly.
“Thanks I guess…” I thanked, looking away while blushing slightly. While turning away, I got a glance of my father, who was… grinning?
“Don’t worry, I support you and your relationship,” he told me quietly so that Izu wouldn’t hear over his fanboying. I was honestly surprised, since he normally didn’t like things like this.
“Thanks,” I mouthed back, looking back at Izu who was still fanboying over my new ‘powers.’
“Anyways, what now? Were you gonna go tell mom?” Touya asked me. I looked at him and shrugged.
“I mean I guess, only if you both want to though,” I glanced at Izu, then back at Touya.
“Well if you want to, then I’ll come with you,” Touya told me.
“As for me, I would certainly come with you,” Izu smiled, making me smirk.
“Okay, let’s go then,” I stated, walking away from the scene with the other two behind me. Natsuo walked away as well, although he walked the opposite way we were walking.
“Before you go,” my “father” put a hand on my shoulder. “I want you to know that if you’re ever struggling or feeling bad about something, you can always tell me or someone else in the family. And if you’re EVER thinking about killing yourself, then talk to someone you trust about it,” my father told me. I turned to face him, actually calm towards him for once.
“Okay,” I simply stated, and walked away with the other two.
“So how are you gonna do this?” Touya asked.
“I’m just gonna tell her like the others. She deserves to know why I haven’t visited her at all, and I hope she isn’t scared of me…” I trailed off. Izu grabbed my hand firmly. I looked at him, still walking forward.
“She won’t be scared of you, that’s a fact. I’ve come with you to meet your mother before, she is very kind and understanding of things. She won’t hate you or be scared of you. If anything, she’ll try to help you as much as possible,” Izu comforted. I nodded, trying to believe his kind words. I could sense Touya rolling his eyes.
“Ugh, why do I have to be third-wheeling?” Touya complained. I looked at him blankly, also annoyingly.
“We won’t do anything, chill. You agreed to come with us, so stop complaining.”
“Well I’m just saying, you guys could be WAY less lovey-dovey,” Touya stated, rolling his eyes again.
“Coming from the one who flirts with Hawks wherever you are,” I stated firmly. “I mean it, all you do when you're with him is flirt with him and be very clingy to him. It’s kinda annoying.”
“Well now you’re gonna understand the times of needing your boyfriend.” Touya said in confidence. Izu was still holding my hand.
“Whatever,” I stated, bringing Izu’s hand closer to me and cuddling his hand calmly. I smiled, making him smile as I gently held his hand against my chest.
“See what I mean, times of needing your boyfriend,” Touya egged on. I rolled my eyes and continued caressing my boyfriend's hand.
We got to the hospital where mom was, with of course, lots of teasing from Touya. I had to admit, it was very annoying.
“Hello mother,” Touya greeted, walking into the room where mom was at. “Great to see you again, I’ve got great news!”
“It’s not really great news,” I walked in next, still holding my boyfriend's hand. Mom turned to look at us both.
“Oh, hello Touya, Shoto,” she greeted, smiling.
“And yes, it is good news since you can quickly heal from burns if anything bad happens again,” Touya whispered to me, making me annoyed.
“And you wish you had that ability don’t you. Those scars look kinda bad,” I commented, looking at his nasty scars. “No wonder you got the dumbest pro hero out there.”
“Oh shut it,” Touya stated, crossing his arms. Izu was also right beside me.
“Hello Mrs. Todoroki,” he greeted kindly, making me smile. He got along with my mother so well, it was heart-warming to me, even though it never showed.
“Hello Midoriya,” she greeted with a smile. “May I ask, was there a reason you all came here? I see Shoto’s appearance has changed quite a bit from the last time I saw him?”
“Oh, I’m only here for support. I ain’t explaining anything, that’s your youngest’s job,” Touya stated, pushing me forward. I took a small step back.
“Same, I came to support Sho,” Izu stated, smiling kindly.
“I see you’re on a first name basis, you guys must be close,” Mom glanced at him. “Anyways, you said you came here to explain something?”
“Mhm,” I hummed, looking up at mom for the first time. Her eyes slightly widened at my appearance.
“Shoto… why are your eyes red? You’re also kinda pale, are you sick?” She asked, getting up from her seat. I took a step back, her noticing my behavior and stopping.
“The reason I haven’t visited in 3 weeks is because… I got bit by a vampire…” I told her truthfully. I heard a quiet, but audible gasp from her mouth. “I didn’t visit because I didn’t want you to hate me or to be scared of me because I’m a vampire now…”
“Oh Shoto, I would never hate you for something like this,” she stated kindly, calming me slightly. “And I would never be scared of you. I’m just surprised if anything…” she trailed off, probably not knowing what else to say. I didn’t blame her.
“See, I told you, you just don’t listen,” Touya commented. I turned to him.
“Oh shut it, dumbfuck,” I whispered the last part so mom wouldn't hear. Touya, of course, acted over-dramatic and pointed at me.
“Mom, Shoto called me a ‘dumbfuck'” he tattletailed. Mom looked at me.
“Shoto, don’t call your brother that,” She told me. I rolled my eyes.
“Whatever,” I crossed my arms. Izu grabbed my hand firmly.
“Sho, calm down,” Izu told me. I took a few deep breaths and calmed down, although it was only slightly. I was still clearly annoyed.
Even though I was annoyed, Izu got this “amazingly great” idea that I would most likely either hate, or just not like.
“You should turn into a bat again!” Izu asked excitedly. I mentally face-palmed.
“Why do I need to? I’m perfectly fine with standing here,” I told him bluntly.
“Huh? What do you mean?” Mom asked. I got even more annoyed that I’d have to tell her.
“Just something that I can do now I’m a vampire, along with the other couple things,” I told her.
“Please!” Izu begged, looking up at me with the most adorable face ever. I tried looking away, but couldn’t as his look was too cute and too strong. Eventually, after a very long time (long time being less than 10 seconds), I gave in.
“Fine,” I rolled my eyes.
“See, I told you. The bottoms get away with everything,” Touya rolled his eyes again.
“Touya quit it,” Mom asked, making Touya stop making stupid comments. I smirked.
“Do it!” Izu asked eagerly. I sighed, and did it, now flapping my wings in the air. Mom looked at me, surprised.
“Wow, that’s cool,” she said, still in shock.
“It’s adorable though!” Izu said eagerly. I wasn’t at all surprised by his reaction.
Sometimes I really didn’t wanna fly, like right now, so I just landed on Izu’s arm. He held his arm up by his chest, totally fanboying over my bat form, as I called it.
“I can see you like Shoto like that,” Touya smirked.
“Of course I do! He’s adorable like this!” He fanboyed. I was now comfortably snuggled up on his arm, him gently stroking the back of my head, which I had to admit, felt calming and nice.
“You sure he likes that?” Touya asked.
“Shut up Touya… let him be…” I calmly stated, still very comfortable snuggled into my boyfriend’s arm. He continued gently stroking my head, making me kinda tired.
I quickly dozed off, still on my boyfriend’s arm as he gently stroked my head. I didn’t care that I fell asleep, I was comfortable and calm. Izu stroking my head gently didn’t help, but it felt nice, so I let him, making me more sleepy as I soon fell asleep.
