Deserted Lover!

9 2 1

Amidst the endless sand and stone,
A lone figure stood and moaned,
His heart was heavy, his spirit low,
For he was left to wander alone.

His love, like water in the sand,
Had slipped through his desperate hand,
Leaving him parched and begging for more,
Yet she was gone, forevermore.

He wandered far and wandered wide,
Through the desert, his soul to hide,
But no matter where he went or what he did,
His love for her could not be rid.

So he sat beneath the scorching sun,
A forsaken soul, his heart undone,
For he was the deserted lover, cast away,
Left to wander in the heat of day.

Yet still he held on to his love,
A flicker of hope, a gift from above,
For though she was gone, he knew it true,
His love for her would forever renew.
