"Come on, Rochelle!"
"I don't wanna!" I wailed into my pillow, embracing the snug warmth radiating from the blankets
I heard a loud sigh and footsteps getting fainter, seemingly heading out of the door.
Yes!
I smiled gratefully and turned into a better position, wrapping the soft, warm blanket around body.
Suddenly a cold pair of small hands wrapped itself around my thin ankles and my mind immediately jumped to the one scene of the horror movie, The Conjuring.
"Aaaah!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs whilst jumping out of my bed, grabbing the lamp as a weapon.
"What the fuck, Lawla? I would of needed to send you to LA for a face lift if this lamp had flew out of my hands!" I screamed in annoyance.
She got over her shock and then stared at me in confusion.
I placed the lamp back on my bedside table and sat down on the bed, feeling my muscles ease up.
"Rochelle, what's going on? You've been tense all week, not to mention also missing school and your photoshoots. You've been jumpy and acting like something could go wrong any minute."
This was sad. Why? Because it was the truth. I've been trying to avoid the world since the incident with Mr Alveiro on Monday afternoon and I have to admit that it's starting to eat away at me. I miss seeing him but what Tiffany did was unforgivable... What was worse was that Mr Alveiro did not give me a proper excuse to why Tiffany had kissed him. Then again, we not in a relationship and he owes me nothing.
"I know that Tiffany kissed Mr Alveiro, if that's why you're upset... "
Yes I was upset.
Okay screw that, I AM upset! What Lawla suggested was in fact correct but not entirely. My alleged powers is what's scaring me. The fact that Mr Alveiro knows about it is what's making it worse. I must seem like some sort of freak, though he seemed merely curious and almost shocked.
"Lawla, I'm fine. Yes I'm upset about that but also about th-"
"The powers?!" Lawla asked, with worry in her voice.
I nodded and looked down into my hands.
I had to tell her. She was the only possible person I could trust... Except with the pendant situation. It was my mother's. She gave it to me the night before she got murdered and said it should provide me with protection. For what, I was yet to to find out but surely it does not work anymore. If I could count how many times I fell or slipped whilst at a photoshoot, the pendant had failed many chances to prove itself.Lawla grabbed my hand and dragged me all the way into the kitchen.
"I made you breakfast!" she said with excitement.
I had to admit, the breakfast looked good... Though I couldn't help but look at her skeptically. Usually all food that Lawla made was inedible.
"Okay!" she says while lifting her hands up into the air. "I bought it from the deli. Was worth a shot..." she mumbled.
"There's the Lawla I know!" I said and she stuck her tongue out at me.
We both took a seat at the kitchen counter, starting to dig in the lovely bacon and eggs with toast.
