DesiredAngel***
The late afternoon sun was hitting my sun-kissed tanned skin, which felt unbelievably amazing. Warm and inviting, it was. As I lay on the sand with waves that gently caressed my body, I thought, "I'll miss this. Could I possibly give this up?"
It all made sense. Tiago was almost never in the sun. He was unhealthily pale and his body temperature was way below -0 degrees. He always wore black and drives an expensive BMW with highly tinted black windows that I'm not entirely sure how he got away with.
He could even smell the flavour of my blood...
I should of seen this coming because all the signs were parading right before my very own eyes. I'm too naive for my own good.
Sunset was approaching rapidly and the waves were hitting the shore a bit more vigorously, running wildly over my body. I looked up into the sky to only see dark clouds forming, indicating that a storm was ahead.
A wave came crashing down into the shore, all over me. With my weight holding me down like an anchor, it was a struggle to get onto both my two feet.
"Rochelle, look out!" yelled an assistant. I was instantly dragged into the ocean, trying to hold on to the sand but that seemed to be pulled back with me.
"Shit." I cursed under my breath. My heart was pounding against my ribcage and I felt overwhelmed.
"Get Miss Black out of there!" screamed Becca, my very 'loveable' manager, in the distance.
My head felt thick and cloudy from all the salt water I swallowed. I tried pushing myself to swim to the shore but the tides kept pulling me.
"We haven't got the shot!" yelled Franco, the photographer.
Seriously? My life is put at risk because of a damn shot?
Kicking and screaming didn't help as my body felt numb from the cold and the water was pulling me into the unknown.
Huh. I never expected to die so young. At least I wouldn't become a vampire anymore.
I gave up trying to save myself and felt my body start to sink. My steady heart beats was the only thing I could hear.
Suddenly, I felt a burning sensation on my chest and I looked down to inspect it.
My pendant was glowing.
"Mom?" I called out but only to be disappointed by thought of her being dead.
Who was I kidding? She's not ever coming back.
"Princess?" called out a smooth voice, out of nowhere. "Princess, follow the sound of my voice."
I obediently listened and did what the voice told me to do. Soon, I felt a cold hand touch my arm and I spun around to only see Claire.
Wait. Claire?
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
She laughed at me like I cracked the joke of the century.
"Oh, wait. You're serious. You don't know why I'm here?"
I shook my head.
"Well, I'm a Striga." she said. "a witch."
What the fuck.
I tried splashing water at her and swimming away, but to much of my dismay, I cannot swim to save my life. I wasn't even entirely sure how I managed to stay above water.
