I awoke to a loud banging on my bedroom door.
I groaned and placed a pillow onto my face, hopefully finding more peace but the banging just continued.
"Come in!" I yelled, pulling myself upright and covered myself with my soft plush duvet.
"Good morning, your Royal Highness." Said two servant men who were both carrying a large plasma TV.
"Uh ... That's not mine?" I said in confusion, getting onto my feet.
"Sorry, Princess. Got strict orders from Sir Alveiro to bring it up here." Said the one elderly servant while the other one connected wiring and mounted it onto my wall.
"Oh. I'm Rochelle, by the way Sir. Sorry, I forgot where my manners were."
The servants looked up at me in shock.
"Did I offend you? Shit- I mean snap, I'm sorry!"
The younger one, whom was very good looking, smiled at me and continued connecting the television while the older man tried to find his words.
"T...thank you, uh Rochelle. We are a bit taken aback. Us peasants aren't usually worth paying respects too." He spoke gently, passing me a note. I looked down at the folded piece of parchment and smiled - it was from Tiago.
"I'll treat everyone equal, no matter the status. You're just like me, a normal person." I explained
He stared at me in shock then his expression softened.
"You're clearly not a vampire... yet." Said the younger servant, installing what seemed to be cable. "Tell us this when you become one of them."
The older man stuttered and said, "What my rude son meant is that vampires tend to think differently. We have witnessed how people's perspectives changes when they're are awakened."
Wrapping the delicate black silk gown around my body, I crossed my arms to seem modest with my body.
"Sorry about that, I didn't realise I was wearing inappropriate attire in front of guests." I apologised and I heard the snickering of the handsome son.
I rolled my eyes at him and looked at his father. "What are your names, Sir?"
"I'm Manu. This is Dominic." Said the old man.
His son rolled his eyes one more time and continued doing his work. I smiled and went into the bathroom, turning on the taps to the bath tub. I finally decide to open up the letter.
"Rochelle,
Thank you for the wonderful evening. Purchased you a television so you can at least have some source to your outside world.
I shall escort you to breakfast at 9am.
Your fiancé
T.A"
I couldn't help but smile at his thoughtfulness. I'm actually engaged. Me, of all people. I can't deny the giddy feeling that thrilled me so much yet I feel disappointed that I can't share my happiness with Lawla. With no one, for that matter.
"You guys would be okay seeing yourselves out? I need to freshen up before breakfast." I explained to the two men before I walked to my closet.
"Of course. Thank you, Princess." Manu thanked, and continued working with his son.
I pulled out a black lace dress with floral designs embedded in the lace. It reached my lower thighs and I paired this with black Jimmy Choo sandals.
After my bath, I pinned my hair up into a bun and applied minimal makeup. I reached for the door, crashing into Tiago. He smirked down at me and held my waist tightly.
