"Take her to her room. Get her something to drink, she needs to get her energy back." said the deep voice
I felt my body been lifted from a cold, hard embrace into those of a soft, warm one.
"Yes, I shall Sir. Will that be all?" the voice asked. This voice though, this voice was just as deep, if not deeper. I could feel the little rumble as my head lays on his chest.
"Yes. I'll be seeing the Queen."
Wait, what? The Queen? My grandmother? Where were we?
My eyes struggled to open themselves and I panicked. I needed to so desperately see the surroundings of where my new 'home' was.
After a few minutes of cuddling into the strangers' warm arms, I was gently put onto a soft, plush bed. The man gently kissed my forehead and quickly left the room. I tried to stand up and wander around the room, getting the idea of how big the perimeter was but it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. I knocked into a hard wall and lost my balance, landing with a huge thump on the smooth floor.
Suddenly, my eyes shot open and I was mesmerized by the sight of what, supposedly, is my room. The queen size poster bed sat perfectly in the middle of the room, two glass bedside tables with lamps either side and double doors leading to the balcony. The room was painted in different shades of purple and black. As elegant and modern as it looked, it also has had the old wooden floors and mahogany desk in the far corner. It was beautiful.
"Princess!" said the man and he immediately helped me up. I quickly got dizzy from the fast movement.
"Who are you?" I asked, using a gentle tone towards the man.
He helped me onto the bed and placed the tray on my lap.
"I'm the Queen's must trusted personal servant. My dear, you look so much like your mother. As strikingly beautiful as always." he said, his voice lingered in awe.
His words made me feel warm on the inside. He knew my mother.
"In case you're wondering, I watched her grew up." he older man said, his deep voice broke into nothingness with his last few words, but I understood. "She was like my own daughter. " he added. My heart swelled at that instant and I put the tray on my bedside table, standing up to pull the man into an embrace.
"Thank you for everything you have done for her." I whispered.
"Trust me, my child. It was never a bother." he said, pulling away and smiled at me.
I sat down, looking at the two silver chalices filled with two different kinds of liquid. I brought the first one to my mouth, taking a small sip.
Blood.
I instantly put it back into my tray and drank the second chalice's liquid, which was water.
My energy started returning back into my body.
"Why did you give me blood, Sir?" I asked the man.
"Please, it's Anthony. Sorry, we are so use to bringing the Queen blood refreshments. I put water in the other chalice, just in case." he said
I smiled at his kind gesture.
"You're not fully turned yet, are you?" he carefully asked, studying my features.
"No, Anthony. I'm only a half blood." I said. "I'm trying best as possible to stay human for longer."
"Ah... The Queen is probably going to change you as soon as possible. Her time on the throne is rapidly coming to an end."
