Chapter Seven
The serene sound of the waves crashing against the moving ship, greets the couple as they arrive above deck. The smell of the late morning ocean breeze thick in the air, as the sun shines down on them in a beacon of light. The omega lets out a squeak of protest as his eyes aren't quite ready to adjust to such harsh rays, moving to bury his head within the alpha's neck to escape such cruelties to his pupils.
The alpha lets out a small chuckle as he pulls the boy closer towards his chest, allowing him to take sanctuary in the crook of his neck from the harshness of the sunlight. "You'll get used to how dark it gets below deck after a while, baby," Seonghwa promises the boy as he cards a hand through the younger's hair.
Wooyoung only lets out a small hum at the words, keeping his head hidden in the man's broad chest as the alpha continues their journey towards another section of the ship. After a few minutes, the omega takes a cautious peek outside of his dark sanctuary, allowing his eyes to finally adjust to the brightness of the sun. He's able to take in the scenery surrounding him with a curious glance as he takes it all in with bated breath.
The late morning day looks absolutely beautiful out upon the open sea and Wooyoung can't help but admire the beauty of it. The sun is shining brightly upon them, the reflection of it upon the cobalt blue water aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. The tepid ocean breeze is actually quite refreshing as it blows the omega's already unruly hair out and about his face.
The open deck is almost completely devoid of others, besides themselves. Only Yunho and Mingi can be found sitting at the peak of the boat where the giant wheel to steer is, staring off into the sea as they seem to bask in the other's company. Wooyoung watches as Mingi lets out a loud and boisterous laugh before placing his head upon the taller boy beside him's shoulder.
The omega can't help but to smile as he watches them, finding their dynamic to be quite sweet and endearing, almost. Thinking of how the two of them must have grown so close to be able to act that friendly with another alpha. Though as Wooyoung thinks about it a bit, out of what he's been able to observe so far of the crew, all of them seem to be rather close. Closer than a normal camaraderie or even a brotherly relationship, even.
"What are you thinking about so deeply?" Seonghwa whispers into the boy's ear, snapping him out of his deep thoughts as the two of them step into an enclosed part of the upper deck.
Wooyoung turns to peer up at the alpha with a small smile and shake of his head. "Nothing important," he promises the man with a sheepish smile, not really having enough guts to outright ask him about his curiosity even though he fully believes that the alpha will tell him anything his heart could ever desire to know.
Seonghwa only smiles at the words, leaning down to press a small kiss upon the boy's forehead. "You don't have to be anxious about asking me or any of the others whatever it is you're worried about, we will always answer all of your questions to the best of our abilities," the alpha says the words that the omega already knew he would.
Wooyoung lets out a small chuckle as he smiles up at the alpha. "It was nothing really, I promise," he tells the alpha, shaking his head at the worried crease between the man's eyebrows, leaning up to kiss the surprisingly hot wrinkle of worry away.
"Well I see you two have bonded fairly well," a mischievous voice says from behind the pair, startling the both of them out of the little world they had engulfed themselves in.
