Chapter Four

The sound of the waves crashing against the wood of the boat is a soothing symphony inside of the omega's ears, that mingling with the calming rocking motion of those same waves keeps the boy in a slumber for several hours. The soft fur of the large Clydesdale gives him a nice pillow to rest his head upon as he continues to dream of a life in which he finally belongs somewhere.

It's when the boat takes up a new swaying pattern does Wooyoung finally get aroused from his slumber. The new motion causes him and Hana to almost go tumbling into the pile of barrels that they've decided to enshroud themselves behind. The omega is quick to keep them both steady so they don't make any commotion inside of their hiding spot.

The omega turns to stare at the horse with wide eyes. "What was that?" He whispers to the large Clydesdale. Said horse only lets out a small huff in response to the question.

Wooyoung doesn't have to wait for long to realize what is happening. Hearing the scuffle of boots on wood above his head and muffled voices. The pirate crew to which this vessel belongs are back aboard and apparently ready to continue on their journey.

"Shit," is all the omega can say to himself as he realizes that he's in some deep shit now.

The sudden jolt of harsh movement must have been the crew steering the ship back out onto the open sea. Meaning that he has absolutely no chance of sneaking off the boat until they get to the pirates' next stop upon land. Such a journey will probably take days. There's absolutely no way that the crew of this ship can be that naive to not notice a stowaway and their giant horse hiding away inside of their hold.

"We're screwed, Hana." He tells the horse by his side, staring off at the rocking wooden wall of the ship with an exaggerated sigh, noticing the difference in the movement now that they're out upon the open sea.

He thinks about how much worse things could actually be for himself. He could have been captured by the royal guards and taken back to the palace that's more of a prison than it's ever been a home to him. He could have been handed over to be Lee Heeseung's lawfully wedded omega and be tormented by the Lee family for the rest of his life. At least in this scenario of the story none of that will be happening.

"At least if I get cast overboard and die in the sea I will die as a free omega," Wooyoung declares out loud, obviously happy to just have that little glimpse of what freedom feels like. If he dies now he can die happy knowing what it's like to actually be alive and to see the world, even if for the brief moment that it was.

Hana only lets out an angry sounding noise at the omega's words, obviously not agreeing that that is a good scenario at all. "Don't worry, I'm sure they'll keep you. A horse as gorgeous and special as you-"

Suddenly a ruckus from down the hall has the omega cutting himself off mid-sentence. The clamoring of heavy footfalls can be heard as a set of boots makes their way closer to the hold in which they're hiding.

"It's your turn to make dinner tonight!" A deep voice shouts as the footsteps grow closer, the person sounds like they're pouting as they say the words obviously not wanting such a feminine task as cooking.

A small chuckle can be heard as the doorway to the hold swings open, the other person finding the other's words to be quite amusing. "You want me to cook?" A voice, even deeper than the first asks.
