John saw Neytiri standing over him when he awoke. He grunted as he got up from his bed and sat up. As she observed him, Neytiri moved away from him.
"Today is the day for you make your first kill." She told him as he looked at her." Today?" He asked and she nodded to him." Come, we have to go." She told him before walking away from him.
John sighs as he gets up before, heading to get himself cleaned up. He found his way to the ocean and went to clean his face. He looked around to see people getting up and starting their day. He turned to see Neytiri waiting for him to finish.
He smiled at her before following her to the woods. Neytiri led him deep into the woods, away from the village. He didn't ask questions, he just followed after her.
After all, she was the one who knew what she was doing.
"In order to find the animals that we are going for, we must look far into the forest. You pray for them after you kill the animal to end their suffering." He understood after she explained it to him and nodded.
"Come." She said before climbing and jumping on the trees. He followed after her and stopped when she also stopped, crouching down in front of him.
He did the same, confused about what was happening. His answers were heard when he saw an animal coming out of the bushes.
The animal looked around before slowly eating the grass that was on the ground.
"You need to make your kill soon." She told him quietly before looking at him. John sighs before nodding. As the animal was consuming grass, he quietly made his way over to it.
He was aware that Neytiri was watching him closely from afar. He was about to make the kill when he heard something else behind him.
The animal in front of him gave him a look before turning to look behind him. John could hear the animal growling behind him as the other animal fled away.
He turned around to see a Thanater standing there and soon heard Neytiri yelling at him. John cursed before making a run for it. As he continued to run, the Thanater began to chase after him.
Because he was so intent on escaping the Thanater, he was no longer able to hear or see Neytiri. He stopped quickly when he appeared at a cliff.
John saw the animal slowly approaching him as he turned around to see it. John prayed with his eyes closed as he ran to confront the animal.
John yells out as he starts to attack the animal. The Thanater used its mouth to try and cut John. John landed on its back as he tried to stab the animal in the neck.
The Thanater kicked John off its back, knocking him to the ground. John grunts as he lands on his back. The Thanater approached John and was about to tear it apart when John raised his knife and stabbed the Thanater in the head, killing the creature.
