There's always a reason

I never thought it would happen to me, but it did. I was on my way home from a friend's house when a car pulled up beside me. Before I could even react, the door opened and someone grabbed me from behind, covering my mouth so I couldn't scream.

I struggled and fought with everything I had, but it was no use. They were too strong. They threw me into the car and blindfolded me. I was terrified.

But then, something strange happened. I felt a hand on my shoulder, and I heard a familiar voice whisper in my ear.

"It's okay, Natalie. I've got you."

It was Jake. My bodyguard. He had been following us the whole time.

I don't know how he did it, but Jake managed to overpower the kidnappers and free me from their grasp. I was still blindfolded, but I could hear the sounds of a struggle and the thud of bodies hitting the ground.

After what felt like hours, Jake finally took off my blindfold. We were in a dark alley, far away from my neighborhood. But we were safe.

I expected to be shaking with fear, or crying uncontrollably. But instead, I felt... calm. Almost like I was in a movie.

"Are you okay, Natalie?" Jake asked, checking me over for any injuries.

"I'm fine," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "Thanks to you."

Jake smiled. "You're tougher than I thought, kid."

I shrugged. "I watch a lot of action movies."

We made our way back to my house, and I knew that I would never forget this experience. I had always thought of Jake as just a bodyguard, someone who was there to protect me because my dad was rich. But he was so much more than that.

Jake had risked his own safety to save me. He had become a friend, a confidante, and a hero. And I knew that I could never repay him for what he had done. But I also knew that I would always be grateful to have him in my life.
