After spending a week in the hospital, Jake was finally released with his arm in a cast. Natalie could see that he was still in pain, but he wouldn't admit it. She did her best to help him as much as possible, carrying his books for him and giving him space to rest when he needed it. She didn't ask him for any help, knowing that he needed to focus on healing.

But school was a different story. Jake had to come with Natalie to school to protect her, as per her father's orders. The first week went smoothly, with no incidents to speak of. But then, a guy in school started flirting with Natalie. She tried to tell him to back off, but he didn't listen. Instead, he got aggressive, making Natalie feel scared and vulnerable.

Jake immediately stepped in between them to protect her, but the guy just made fun of his broken arm and tried to affect him. Natalie couldn't bear to watch Jake get hurt, so she stepped in between them to try and help.

Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned. The guy was bigger than she expected, and he landed a punch right on Natalie's eye. She fell to the ground, clutching her face in pain. Jake was beside himself with guilt, feeling like he had failed in his duty to protect her.

But Natalie was tough, and she wasn't about to let this guy get the best of her. She got back up, her eye already starting to bruise, and stood up to the bully. "You think you can hurt me? You don't know who you're dealing with," she said, her voice steady and strong.

The guy looked taken aback by her sudden bravery, and he backed off. Natalie and Jake made their way to the nurse's office, where Natalie was treated for her black eye. Jake was beside her the whole time, holding her hand and telling her that he was sorry for what had happened.

But Natalie didn't blame Jake. In fact, she was grateful for everything he had done for her. She knew that he had risked his life to protect her on the mountain, and that he would continue to do so no matter what. And she was determined to stand by his side, no matter what challenges they might face in the future.
