I'm forgetful and unable to retain,
But there's one thing I can't forget,
He's a memory that lingers still,
He's always at the top of my regret.
Though time and time again my mind is less than clear,
His face and words still linger here,
I'm forgetful, but I can't forget him,
No matter how I try to disappear.
Things that don't matter, I remember not,
But him I simply can't recall,
For though my moments are an ever shuffling deck,
His memories are stuck, stuck in my wall.
I'm forgetful, no argument there,
But try as I might and write it off as lost,
A part of me will never forget,
Feeling all too slowly at no cost.
