(Transferred from Jumin Han book because I like it haha... so most of this is based off of Jumin but I tried to add Mark related stuff the best I could!!)

One year ago

The shot glass hit the bar counter as I gulped the burning, dry, intoxicating beverage. Another one arrived in my sight. I downed that one too.

I was engaged to a man with a sense of adventure; however, his adventure was other women. He liked the landscape of them, far better than mine. And yet, I agreed to marry him.

"I'm not going to be able to walk home if I have anymore," I shied away from the other shot being poured. "How much?" I laid money on the counter. "Have a nice night."

I fixed my hair and flattened out my skirt, I forgot my coat at work. Steamy air rushed into the sky, signaling it was a cold night.

I was relieved to see him, though also shooken. "(Y/N)(L/N)?"

"Mark Fischbach?"

"What were you doing this late in a bar?" Mark asked.

"May have just started my job, but just ended a relationship too," I sighed. "He was too young minded, like your father, but worse."

"What did he do?"

"Slept with every women he saw, sometimes even payed them. Caught him," I pursed my lips. "Nothing like a good wake up call I suppose."

"Well, did you sleep with him?" It was only natural that he asked.

"Nope. I wanted to marry first. But, clearly he didn't, as to we were supposed to be married six months ago."

"You're not mad?"

"I'm good, if that makes sense? I'm relieved I don't have to deal with that, you know?" I shook my head.

"Yeah, actually, I do." I shivered. "Are you cold?"

"A little bit."

"Here."

Present

"Why aren't you drinking your fancy wine?" I asked Mark as I walked into the same bar I reunited with him a year ago, not knowing that he was my boss.

"Because I'm relieved."

I chuckled, rolling my eyes. "You couldn't possibly be relieved."

"He couldn't steal you away if he wanted to," Mark sat back in the bar stool, sighing. "You know how he is. Just give it a chance to make them happy, even though you're not quite classy for my taste."

"Engaged to the man who listened to me a year ago, what a coincidence. Mark, before we actually start this, I just wanted to sa-"

"I'm hard on you as a boss and I usually make you unhappy and hate me with the stuff I make you do? I know," he took a sip of whiskey.

I pursed my lips. "Mark, I don't hate you, I hate the things you've done to me."

"Like?"

"The coffee spill, you dumped a pitcher of water onto my head and told me 'how would you like it if someone dumped you all out?' That's one thing."

"I was immature."

"You're right."

"Somehow you're still like a kid too, though."

"Explain that to me Mr. Fischbach?" I gave him a smirk.

His cheeks dusted pink.

"You still have a grudge on me because of the coffee. That's childish."

"I recall Mr. Ethan telling me you have a dog you baby like she's your child? That's childish," I chuckled.

"That's not even close. Matt steals my cat and tortures her."

"Matt?"

"He's a friend of mine. We're in a group that organizes parties."

"That's really cool, what for?"

"People in need."

"That's sweet of you," I paused. "And I thought you had a cold ass heart?"

"Language."

"Too late sucker!" I stuck my tongue out. Mark looked away. "I'm serious though, that's awfully sweet of you and your friends."

"Thank you."

"Of course."

"Do you want me to walk you home?" Mark offered.

"There's construction going on, so I have to stay somewhere else that I can't necessarily walk to," I scratched the back of my neck.

"I'll take you there. Kim will drive."

"Are you sure? I could just call my friend."

"I'm sure."

Mark let me get inside the car first. "Where to?"

I fell asleep in the car.

The morning light came shooting inside on the cream colored bed. Where am I? I'm not in my friends apartment. "Hello?"

"You're awake," Mark came walking in the room. "You're friend wasn't home, so I took you here. There's clothes on the stand over there."

"Thank you Mark."

He walked away.

My cheeks became red realizing I was in Marks bed.

"Mark," I cried.

He walked back. "Yes?"

"I guess we can try this whole arranged marriage thing for real this time."

He smiled.

Finally, I have her.
