Inspired by "Playing it Cool"...and in Marks point of view of you ;)

She began to tap on the table impatiently. She was looking around for someone who wasn't there. She was too beautiful to be stood up, if that's the case. She caught my eyes. Her smile made her look like a painting. "Hey big guy, what are you looking at?" She laughed. "Come sit by me; what are you doing here?"

If you had already guessed it, she's my best friend (Y/N).

"I'm looking at you because you look lost," I said, taking a seat next to her.

"Well, Jack said he would come to the charity event with me, but he hasn't shown up and it's been half an hour already," she looked around once more for him. "He probably just forgot, he's like that."

"Sounds like Jack," we were silenced for a few. "Say, Sean's coming here tomorrow, Ethan and your brother will be there, do you wanna come?"

"Come where?" She asked.

"Well, we can go to the beach and then go bowling or something," I scratched the back of my head. "If you're up to it."

"Of course I'm up to it! Jacks gotta work tomorrow anyways, and it leaves me with nothing else to do," her smile appeared again. That smile is absolutely beautiful. "Dude, what's up with you?"

"Oh, nothing. I just keep zoning out."

"On me though?" She laughed.

The next day came around faster than I wanted it to. The sound of a doorbell rang at my door, and there stood the gang. Sean, Tyler, Ethan, and finally (Y/N). "Mark, get your things man, we're heading out to the beach!" Sean bursted into my house, looking around. (Y/N) then walked in.

"Where's my Chica-Pika?" She asked me. I pointed to my room. "Thanks bud."

Bud.

The beach held lots of people, but we finally got a spot to sit our stuff down. "Last one to the water's a rotten egg!" Ethan began running to the water, of course getting a head start.

"You're such a cheater!" Tyler began to run after him.

"Looks like I'm gonna beat you!" (Y/N) looked back at me laughing. I chased after her. I lost. "Haha! I told you big guy."

Big guy.

We all finally decided to just sit on the warm beach. (Y/N) and I had to share a blanket since she didn't bring a proper beach towel. "After we're all done hanging out, do you want to go have dinner with me?" I asked.

She turned her head to look at me. Those (E/C) eyes were even more brighter in the sun. "Are you asking me out on a date?"

"No. No, I mean, as friends," I tried to correct the misunderstanding.

"So...you're asking me on a date."

"Like, a friend date. Nothing but friendliness between us, not that there isn't enough of that."

"A friend date huh?"

"Yeah," I pursed my lips.

"Sure," she smiled. "Only as friends though."

"Of course."

After our eventful bowling trip, Sean and the boys headed back to my house to get ready for later. (Y/N) and I went to Margos. Our go-to restaurant. She ordered a chocolate milkshake, and I did too.

"Jacks gonna want me back home shortly," she sighed. "He's coming over tonight, or is supposed to."

"You're going by someone else's rules?" I asked, chuckling.

"I'm not kidding Mark."

"Come on, do you really love him?"

It just slipped from my mouth.

She hesitated. "I," she looked at me dead in the eye. "We've discussed getting engaged."

"That didn't answer my question (Y/N)," I proper my head on my hand. "But with that, why haven't you married him?"

"I'm not ready," she said quickly.

"Because you don't love him."

"I didn't say that Mark."

"You never said you loved him."

"Why are you getting all worked up about me loving my boyfriend?" She asked sarcastically.

"Because I love you (Y/N). I always have."

She looked down at the table, unable to look at me. "I gotta leave Mark. Go catch up with the boys."

"(Y/N)," I tried to grab her sleeve.

"Mark, I have to go."

I arrived home. "Didn't work out so well, did it?" Sean cake up to me.

"I guess not. I don't even know her feelings on the guy either, she wouldn't answer me," I sat down on the couch.

Ethan failed at Fortnite and looked up at me from the floor. "What do you mean?"

Tyler pursed his lips and leaned on the doorway to the kitchen. "She doesn't love him, I know she hates the fact she never gets to see him, and when she does, he talks about work. She just wants a relationship with someone who's stable."

"I'm not stable?" I asked.

"You're her best friend man, I don't know what to say other than that," Tyler said again.

Ethan and Sean both shook their heads to agree.

I woke up to hear my phone ringing. "Hello?" I answered.

"Hi Mark, can I come over?" It was (Y/N).

"Yeah, yeah. What's going on?" I asked. She sounded like she had been crying.

"I'll tell you when I get over there."

In the spare bedrooms, I could hear the faint snores of three men. Luckily, none of them heard me go and answer the door. (Y/N) pulled me into a hug. "Hi there."

She giggled softly. "You were right."

"About what?"

"I don't love him enough to marry him. And he stood me up and didn't even come over like he said."

"So what now?"

"I hate you for being right all the time."

"I love you too for being so perfect."

"I feel like this day was very hectic. I'm sorry for being so awkward earlier and not answering your questions, I'm just so sorr-."

I had to kiss her.

She kissed back.

"YOU TWO COULDN'T BE ANY MORE QUIET," Ethan busted through his door, well, my door.

"YEAH," Sean wakes out rubbing his eyes.

"You two are so cheesy," Tyler walked out too.

"Oh. You can be cheesy, but I can't?" (Y/N) began to get sassy. "Bitch."

Enjoy this cheesy shiz my guys.
