(for this story you will be Y/n Harrington. Thought it would be a cool mix. Also all we know about Steve's parents is that his dad is uncool so we'll say they're away for the holidays 👍 we ♥️ momma Steve. Also this is set in season 3. There will be a lot of this bc I hate that season 4 happened)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Everyone was sat around the tree at the Harrington house. Y/n begged Steve to let everyone spend the night and give presents. (Everyone as in Mike, Lucas, El, Dustin, Will, Max, and Robin.)
Max was sat on the couch beside Robin, with her legs to Dustin's right side. She was wearing Y/n hoodie, as she explained that it was very cold outside and her own was just not doing the job well enough.
"Move over." Y/n squished in between Will and Dustin who were sitting on the floor, wearing a Santa hat on his head. He advised Steve too as well, but he said it would mess up his hair.
"Maybe if you didn't take up so much room I wouldn't need to move." Dustin complained, scooting more to the right.
"Yeah yeah, stuff it." Y/n grabbed a random gift from under the tree, the label reading:
to: robin
from: lucas
Y/n handed the box to Robin, who was sat behind Y/n but on the couch, with her legs on either side of him.
"Thanks, Lucas. I'm glad I got you one or that would've been awkward." Robin chuckled, tearing the wrapping paper.
"Yeah, well you kinda saved my sister's life from Russians so it's the least I could do." Lucas smiled widely at her.
Inside the box was a small charm bracelet with a lesbian flag charm and a trumpet charm.
"This is sick, dude! Thank you." Robin grinned whole heartedly. With the help of Mike, she attached it around her wrist, keeping her eyes glued on it to admire it.
Next came Dustin's present to Mike. "Open it! Open it!" Dustin encouraged.
"Okay okay! I'm trying, god." After unwrapping a horrible paper job, it revealed a large box of lego.
"No way! Dustin this is crazy!" Mike gave him a side hug while Dustin looked completed in life, happy to see his friend liked his gift
The group continued to pass around the gifts, and when there was no more left, Max pulled Y/n to his room to privately give him her gift.
Sitting them both on his bed, she began.
"Okay, I really hope you like this because it was super hard to find- and if you don't just please act like you do anyway." Max giggled nervously, pulling out her gift from her backpack.
"Max, you didn't even have to get me a gift and I'd still be happy."
"Okay but that's not the point."
"Okay I promise to act like I like it even if I don't."
"Good." Max handed over the present, anxiously biting her lip.
Y/n ripped off the last piece of paper, revealing a hand held Pac Man arcade machine. He dropped it into his lap, tackling Max into a hug.
"Okay when I said act happy I didn't mean-"
"Max I love it. And I'm not bullshitting you. Thank you- so much." Y/n grinned ear to ear, leaning in and pecking her lips.
"Okay. Your turn. Close your eyes since it was too difficult to wrap."
"What?! You just ruined Christmas. That's it I'm going h-"
"Max shut up and close your eyes."
"Okay fine." She covered her eyes with her hands, looking down just to make sure she couldn't see. Y/n got off the bed and going to his closet to pull out a brand new complete skateboard. Max's was years old and he was surprised it hadn't snapped by now. He returned back to the side of the bed, holding it up to his chest.
"Okay, same thing goes to you. If you don't like it just pretend. 3... 2.... 1..."
Max uncovered her eyes, and her jaw dropped in shock. "Is that- you're joking. Y/n!" She took the board from his hands, examining it as if it was a crime scene object.
"I hope you like i-" Before he could finish, Max grabbed Y/n by the collar of his zip-up hoodie and smashed her lips onto his. That was the best reply he could've got.
"Thank you! You didn't have to- god- mine looks so bad now- thank you!" She wrapped her arms around the boy, squeezing him and smiling simultaneously.
"Max yours doesnt look any less. I really love it. Thank you." Y/n released himself from the hug, going and placing the machine on his shelf.
"Shall we go see if there's been any cat fights?" Y/n asked, sticking his hand out so Max could interlock their fingers."
"We shall." The girl said with a smile.
As they walked out of Y/n's room, they noticed a conveniently placed mistletoe that was not on the doorframe before they went into the room.
"Hey- Y/n- uhm-" Max motioned upwards, not wanting to make the first move.
Y/n looked up, smirking at what his friends had did. As he looked back down at Max, he grabbed the back of her neck and pulled her into a kiss.
"Merry Christmas Max."
"Merry Christmas Y/n."
(A/N: okay it might be April but for some reason I wanted to write about Christmas. And I know that a skateboard was basic for her but I couldn't think of anything else considering it's almost midnight. Anyway, hope you enjoyed!)
