"Sorry I can't come!"

Here you are.

   Standing in a cafe by yourself because your couple of friends had to cancel a hangout last minute. You considered going home but then your mind was just, 'Hey lets test your social skills!' What a great idea. You walked over to the counter, waiting in line while looking at the menu to see what was available. 

You were watching other people order and get their drinks as you slowly headed to the counter to order. After silently waiting in line, It was your turn. 

"Hello! What can i get for you?" the octoling at the counter asked.

   You wanted to say something, but no words came out of your mouth. Why did talking to other people have to be so hard? 

"it's alright, take our time," She said in a very understanding tone. How sweet .  

   She could tell you were struggling, and so could the boy behind you. He had stepped up to you. It seemed like he wanted to say something. Did you really want to talk to another person? No not really.

"Hey, do you need some help? You could tell me what you would like and I could order it for you!" He offered. 

You hesitated a bit before quietly telling him what you wanted.

"Oh alright! So could we order..."

You didn't hear what he ordered. You started to gaze over at him. He was an octoling with a red-ish pink-ish tentacle color. 

"You don't mind me paying, do you?" He asked, tilting his head a little.

"Ah- No you don't have to-" 

"It's alright! It's not much for me to spend," 

   You gave up and let him pay for you. He invited you to sit with him at one of the counters. You hesitated before following him. 

"Oh! I forgot to ask, What's your name?" He asked.

"Y/n"

"Y/n huh? That's a nice name! I'm Hachi!" He beams and let's out a smile.

   He just gets cuter in your opinion. He asks you about turf and you two get to know each other a little more. You learned he is friends with the infamous team blue, played in a recent tournament with the X-blood (and sadly lost), and is very into pickled plums. You guys even decided a day to hang out and play turf together.

It was starting to get dark so you guys decided to start heading home.

"I live near seerlight street, what about you?" He said, starting up a conversation.

"Same here, I live in one of the apartment buildings," You replied.

"We can walk together then!"

   The sun started to set bring the sky to look golden orange and a subtle pink. The stars would soon come out and the moon was visible. Even if your friends couldn't hang pit with you, you were glad someone like Hachi was there to show a lot of kindness towards you. It was starting to get darker as the stars started to shine.

"Woahhh the stars are so prettyyy," Hachi says, looks towards the sky.

"The shine brightly like your personality," You couldn't belive what you just said. Were you flirting with someone?

"Thank you, it's nice to know there's kind people like you out there," He replies thankfully.

"Yeah..." 

   You get closer to home. Hachi was walking at a slightly faster pace than you but you didn't mind. Sometimes he would look back at you and point something out with a smile on his face. You couldn't get enough of that smile.It made you feel like some hopeless romantic. Maybe you should take it as sole sort of sign. 

"Hey uh- Thank you for helping me.." You said to him. 

"No problem! And uh- could I get your number? You know.  So we can talk to each other more often?"

"Of course!" You two then exchange contact information.

  You were gonna go into the building until Hachi said something to you.

"Goodnight y/n! It was lovely meeting you!"

"Goodnight to you too!" 

   You went inside feeling something flutter in our body. This could not be what love feels like. Maybe it's just some sort of feeling of happiness? He was kinda cute though. Oh well you'll see him layer eventually.

   You looked at your phone to see a text from your friends.

[Best friend!] Okay I know I said I couldn't come but I passed by after I was done with all my random crap and..

[Best friend!] Who was that cute boy?!?!

[Best friend!] Do you like him?!?

Oh. Another problem for you to solve. You sighed. Might as well go to bed now and solve all your 'problems' tomorrow.
