Meanwhile...
Ned was sitting with Peter, while Michelle was suntanning.
"How long has she been down there, Peter?" Ned asked, while Peter was still looking down at the water.
"About an hour. Maybe two hours." Peter said, giving his best friend the estimated timeframe.
Down in the water, Maddy was really still.
She kept her legs criss crossed while meditating.
"What do you think that she's doing down there, Peter?" Ned asked, concerned that Maddy still hasn't came back up yet.
Just before Peter was about to answer that question, a star portal opened and out came one of Maddy's close friends.
America Chavez...
Peter looked at the newcomer.
He was surprised.
"Uh... Um... Ned?" Peter said, now beginning to look back at him.
"Yeah, Peter?" Ned said, in response.
"I'm uh... I'm... I'm gonna... I'm gonna need some air." Peter said as he now began to stand up and was just about to walk over to where America Chavez was.
Ned looked at where Peter was looking at and he could also see the same girl that Peter could see.
"Okay, Peter. I... I need to... Wow. She's pretty." He said, now beginning to fall in love with the blue jean jacket girl.
Peter looked over and saw America Chavez, standing and waiting.
"Yeah she is, man. Listen, I'll go talk to her. Wait here, will you?" He said as he was about to start walking over to her.
Ned nodded his head yes, in understanding.
Just as Peter was about to walk over to America Chavez, the back door opened and Aunt May came stepping onto the back porch.
"Peter?" Aunt May called.
Peter then turned to look at her.
"What is it, Aunt May?" He said, in response as he looked at her, wondering what she wanted with him.
"I made sub sandwiches. Also, Peter... I'm sorry to inform you but, Maddy's been here since three-thirty this morning." Aunt May said, in an explanation.
"That's nice, Aunt May." Peter said, referring to the sub sandwiches that she made.
"If you guys need anything, I'll be inside." Aunt May said as she was just about to go back inside the house.
Peter smiled.
"Of course, Aunt May." He said as she now went back inside the house.
After Aunt May went back inside the house, Peter then walked over to America Chavez.
"Hi. I'm uh..." Peter began to say as he was looking at her.
"Peter Parker... I know." America said, with a smile.
Peter's eyes went wide.
He was shocked.
"H... How did you know that?" Peter asked, still shocked that this girl already knows him.
"I know everyone in the universe. Also, Maddy told me about you, saying how you and her are childhood friends. In fact, her and I have been best friends since she was two years old." America said, in an explanation as she was talking to him.
"That's nice. So... Who are you?" Peter asked, wanting to know since the girl knew him.
"I'm America. America Chavez." America said, introducing herself to him.
Peter smiled and shook her hand.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, America. Wait..." He began to say, before he remembered what Aunt May had told him.
America looked at him.
"What is it, Peter?" She asked, wondering what it was that he wanted to ask her.
"What did my Aunt May say?" Peter asked, now beginning to get really concerned.
"She said that she made sub sandwiches." America said, remembering.
"No no no. Not that. What did she say after that? About... About Maddy?!" Peter said, now really concerned about Maddy.
"That Maddy's been here since three-thirty this morning... Why?" America said, remembering what Aunt May had said.
"This means... Oh... Oh no..." Peter said as tears were beginning to make themselves known in his eyes.
"What? What is it?!" America asked, with the same concerned tone that Peter had.
"She... She's dead..." Peter said, now beginning to break down and cry.
America then began to feel Maddy's presence.
"Peter... Peter... She's not dead." She said, trying to get the young boy's attention as Peter Parker was crying.
Peter then looked at her.
"She... She's not?" He said as he now stopped crying and began to dry his tears.
"No. She's at the bottom of the pool, meditating." America said as they both began to walk over to the pool, where Maddy was, at the bottom.
"Meditating? How do you know about that?" Peter asked, sighing in relief.
"It's a Kamar Taj tradition. Meditating is a great part of the day. How do I know? Well... I'm a graduate. I just graduated from there." America said, with a smile.
"That... That's great!" Peter said, now beginning to feel better.
America smiled.
"Yes it is. I have learned how to master my abilities. Maddy however hasn't yet. Also, you should try meditating sometimes. It helps with your mental health." She said as she was talking to him.
"Maybe I will. Also, how will Maddy be able to come back up when she's all the way...?" Peter began to say as the water began to bubble and within moments, Maddy began to reemerge.
Maddy then began to gasp for air.
"You wouldn't believe how the air's tight down there." She said as she now began to float a little above the water.
Peter smiled.
"Maddy, you've been down there for a long time. We all thought you were..." He began to say, trying not to cry.
"Dead?" Maddy said, wondering.
"Yeah. That's what I thought..." Peter said, trying to fight back the tears.
"No. No, Peter. I wasn't dead. The truth is was that I was sleeping in my bed and the next thing that I knew, I was here. I must've hit my head harder than I thought..." Maddy said as she had her hand on the right side of her head, in place of fighting off the pain of this severe migraine.
She felt as if she was fighting a massive hangover.
Maddy then began to get out of the pool.
She got a towel from one of the beach chairs and began to wrap it around her waist, using her magic.
"What are you doing now, Maddy?" Peter asked, curious to know as Maddy was now sitting down in a chair.
"I... I was just about to..." Maddy began to say, before she could detect someone nearby.
Someone who was just like her.
"Maddy, what were you about to do?" Peter asked, wanting to know.
She then looked back up at him.
"He's here..."
