Ch31.5: Reception

I can't stop taking in my wife's beauty. With each and every passing moment, my eyes undress her laying her bare for me to partake...

Fuck

I need to get us to the palace as quickly as possible. At this rate, I might take her right here...

Gazel: A toast, to the Bride and Groom!!

All: HEAR HEAR!

Everyone drinks as Luminous seemingly shrinks further into her chair out of embarrassment. Still, as much as I might be a horny wrecking ball right now, I have no intention of letting my wife go without enjoying the festivities.

Me: Come with me.

She looks at my outstretched hand before taking it. Together, we make our way to the dance floor—the crowd parts to make way for our "first dance" as a married couple.

Our dance begins slow, at first, with my hands resting just above her waist but gradually we increase the pace as she grows in confidence. 

It isn't long before all worries are replaced by joyous laughter and once we complete our performance with a dip and a kiss, the crowd joins in. Separating to dance with other guests, I quickly find myself being pulled into step with Shion who despite being somewhat upset that I didn't marry her still manages to somehow make herself my "concubine". 

Next, I'm pulled away by Shuna who seemingly overheard and all but demands to be my second. By the time we finished dancing, however, Treyni's tripped her with vines and taken over.

Treyni: Congratulations on the wedding, Lord Rimuru.

Me: Thank you.

Treyni: I guess this means that we won't be staying together anymore?

Me: It goes without saying. A husband is expected to sleep in the same bed as his wife, after all.

Treyni sighs but doesn't argue, which surprises me though it doesn't last long.

Treyni: In that case, I only need to marry you-right?

Me: I-well...

Treyni: Would you sleep with me then?

Me: I thought I already did.

Treyni pouts.

Treyni: You know what I mean.

Me: I highly doubt this is the best time to be talking about this. Besides, if (I raise my voice so that the nearby Shuna and Shion can also hear) any of you wish to be my concubines then you'll have to take such matters to my wife. She has laid claim to all of me, after all.

As if finally accepting defeat, they all stand down leaving me by myself. Unsure of what to do now, I begin making my way back to my seat when Raphael speaks up.

Raphael: [Notice - Individual known as Guy Crimson approaching master's bride.]

Turning, I just about catch glimpse of him reaching for her upper arm before Diablo appears between them knocking his hand aside. The move catches the attention of nearby guests but isn't enough to stop the music. I make my way over but decide against directly intervening immediately, instead allowing events to play out.

Diablo: -if you would be so kind.

Guy: Noir-

Diablo: You are well aware that I no longer go by that name, Rouge.

The words are spat with such venom I'm almost certain they'll come to blows.

Guy: Out of my way. I have business with her.
