Will stood in a field

Will stood in a field. It was so nice out. The sun was up, the wind was calmly caressing his hair. He felt a strong gust of wind behind him. He turned and saw his father. He felt so happy and stretched his arms out to the invincible Kuwago.

His tiny hands held the Mask of his childhood hero.

Will blinked and all that was left was the Mask. He looked around to see where the Kuwago went. But it was only him. Driven more by curiosity, he tried the mask on. Through the eyes of the mask he saw the whole of Quezon city. It was night time. Owl was gliding over the city. Summer time wind smells really nice. Even through the pollution. Lights from buildings lit the city up. He can see little cars and jeeps, people stuck like sardines inside MRT trains.

He landed on a bridge in Guadalupe. "This city is mine," he muttered.

A gentle wind blew by his left shoulder. He was so high up, this was definitely an enemy. He immediately turned but instead, saw an Owl. It was brown and it was staring down the river below. The bird leaped and went straight down the water. Curious, he followed the bird of prey and jumped off.

The water was so eager to meet him. Just before he hit the river, the water turned into cold thick blood.

The smell of iron from the blood river made Owl panic. Then he woke up. It was only a dream. Wasn't it? As he moved, he caught something by the corner of his eyes.

An Owl was in his window.

The Owl stared back with its large round black eyes. It's head changed shape and grew horns, the way owls do whenever it's trying to hide themselves. But against the bright window, how was it going to disappear? Instead the animal vanished.

Will ran out to try and find it outside. He ran past the door and he was back on that empty field.

He walked not really knowing where to go. The wind started to smell like how a beach would smell like. Did he live near the ocean? Will couldn't recall.

Up in the sky, a figure flew. It was the Kuwago. Filled with happiness, Will smiled and ran after him. The sun was high up. But the wind and the sound of the waves crashing made it pleasant and exciting. In the distance, the Kuwago knelt in front of a boy. It was a young Will. The boy suddenly turned grey like a corpse and collapsed. The Kuwago caught the dead boy and boarded a boat. As they sailed away, Will felt a gust of wind behind him. He turned and saw Kate.

"Nasan ka na?" Kate said as her skin slowly turned grey as well.

Will ran towards Kate. "No no no no no!" he screamed. Just before he got to Kate, an Owl the size of a plane grabbed Will and flew off. They flew along edsa. The road was covered in blood. The giant let him go. As he was about to hit the blood soaked asphalt, Will woke up on a bed with tubes on his mouth.

8 months had passed since people saw the Owl drop dead near the shore. They were happy to have their hero as the country's new leader, Alvin Agila.

That happiness never lasted however. He had promised to find a cure for the virus, yet the compound he had tried to replicate killed more people. He tried to hide it first, but people quickly found him out. In the end however, Alvin just kept the unfinished formula. He used the Virus to gain more control over the people.

Denise the reporter has become an Owl conspiracy theorist. She believed that the Owl didn't die that night. Her content was viral and was inspiring more and more people. This was when the internet wasn't restricted yet. Today, no one is connected to the internet. People are forced to watch old Alvin Agila movies and taped noon time shows.

The whole country is being surveyed by Agila Drones 24/7. Each police officer was being accompanied by robot soldiers. There was a curfew and everyone that was caught were jailed or disintegrated on site. There were war ships guarding the shores of the Philippines. Islands were turned into military bases.

But even so, the people weren't doing anything. Still dreaming in limbo. Paralyzed.

The Raven patrolled the streets. After what she'd seen months ago, she took it upon herself to try and do things right this time. She was now more in control.
