"Pa kelangan ko bumalik! Kukunin ko si Kate." Will said. "We shouldn't have left her, dapat mas naging ready ako nun technologically. It was my fault."
"You think it's the lack of weaponry kaya ka nya na talo? You've been watching too much Animé, son." Kuwago spoke right before he lept towards Will.
Angry and desperate to get out, Will fumbled with his backpack and tried to wear one of his new gears. But he was too slow, the bag was immediately snatched from him by the Kuwago.
Landing on another tree, the Kuwago sat down and peaked inside the backpack.
"Oh! Well done! Sayang anak, sana buhay ka na noong 1986. I could have borrowed a set of these." he commended his Son's craftsmanship. "But tools are just tools. Looks like you forgot about that part.'' Kuwago said.
"I need to go back!" Will was stubborn. Limping towards the tree, he tried to go at his father, not really knowing how to attack.
"Di ka na nag iisip. Di ka na nag hahanda. This isn't some part time job you should take for granted, Will. If you want to save that country, you need to be more than just a man. If you can get through me, you can go do whatever you want." Kuwago said.
Will stopped and knelt on the snow. Tired and defeated.
A spy for the rebellion found confirmation where the Vice President and the other prisoners were being held. As well as the stolen vial. The cure. A group of Agila drones caught him coming out of the prison and proceeded to kill him. Before they got to him however, he turned on a tracker and sent a detailed report of the scanned area back to base.
After finding a dead spy within his prison, Alvin Agila mobilized all his forces and fortified his security. Any living thing that comes near this place will disintegrate.
"There's a structure underneath Quezon City circle, almost 10 floors deep. Dun nag trace yung tracker natin." Kate said.
"Wala na tayong choice. We'll have to save them somehow.." Raven said knowing that her father was also being held up down there.
"But there's very few of us right now.. Baka di ren tayo maka pasok." one of the rebels said.
"The people need that antidote. Nobody else will come and help us. W... Owl.. left us with the power to change our future. Let's do things right. Let's plan the attack." Kate said. Will's niece is turning 8 months old tomorrow. December 23. The family prepared a small party.
After a couple of months of rigorous exercise and rehabilitation, Will has regained his full mobility. More disciplined, he was now eating right and sleeping right. After years of neglect, this was the only time he'd been extremely healthy.
Will can now play with his niece. All he needed to do is keep the baby happy by making faces. He stared into his niece's eyes and was in awe. It's cool to think that this is a group of cells that makes up a new organism. A new set of eyes. Uncorrupted.
The next day, everyone had gifts for the little girl.
A baby dress Will's mother made, a pair of socks from Will's father, a teether and a booster chair from the child's parents, and a floating magnet toy Will made.
"You know, pag wala ka hinahanap ka nyan." said Will's mother.
"She'll get used to it." Will said.
That night, everyone tucked in. They will be safe here. Will stood at the gate of their property. It was easy again. He turned and saw the Thin Old man smiling at him.
"Thanks, Dad." Will said as he melted with the shadows of the trees.
