Chapter 16

Naruto sucked in a deep breath and held it pulling in his stomach as much as possible while trying to zip and button his cargo pants.  It was his fourth attempt but it just wouldn't go up.  Feeling less then amused by how quickly his belly is growing and becoming rounder since it first popped out when he hit the start of five months. 

He let go of the zipper and exhaled watching in the floor length mirror as his stomach sat full, expanded in the space of his pants.  The baby was picking up weight and growing at a steady pace.  The fluttering he feels is nonstop now. These pants and a few other ones were always loose fitting and he had been wearing them regularly because he was in denial that he needed to go shopping.  Running a hand through his hair he emitted a frustrated sigh when he brought a hand to rub over the distended flesh.  He'd just worn the pants albeit they were snug when they went to Kiyoshi's teacher conference but now he couldn't get them closed.  Naruto frowned down at his stomach admitting that it's growing faster then he can keep up with.  Also recently notices a dark line forming from his belly button down to the base of his belly.

Sitting down on the edge of the bed he kicked off the cargo pants and threw them across the room to join the other pile of clothing that no longer fit.  He sat with his head in his hands upset that nothing he wanted to wear fit him decently.  He was left with no other option but to put on a pair of sweatpants only because he can pull the waistband underneath his stomach and because all of his shirts ride up hugging tight right below his belly button he took out one of Itachi's lightweight pullovers from the closet and pulled it over his head. 

Now that he has a more obvious bump he wants to conceal it by wearing something baggy.  'I guess we're going shopping tomorrow' he muttered to himself wiping his eyes and looking at the clothes scattered across the floor.  The influx of hormones were driving him crazy and has him exhausted.  He hasn't been able to go back to work yet because even with the anti-nausea medicine he's too tired and ill to be on his feet for the whole day.  He's doing good just having the energy and stamina to pick up Kiyoshi from school and prepare dinner.  He's finding it hard to sleep comfortably at night.   Itachi wants him to quit work worried about over exertion.  They know this pregnancy is high risk, or at least a higher risk than a normal pregnancy, but he wants to wait and see how the next couple weeks are going to go before making a decision. 

He sighed taking one last look at himself in the mirror and then around the bedroom.  He wasn't in the mood to clean up or in the mood to deal with anything.  Itachi can help him with the mess later.  After all it's the Uchiha's fault that he's fat and has nothing to wear.

Kiyoshi was helping his father set the dinning table.  They decided to break out the fine china that was only used on holidays and on special occasions.  Today was one of those days.  They were making the announcement that a new edition to the family would be coming soon so they decided to make it extra special. 

"Do you think grandma and Onna will like their surprise?" Kiyoshi asked as he laid an envelope on top of each plate.

Each envelope contained a personal copy of the last sonogram and a picture of the three of them together Naruto with his shirt pulled up exposing the sizable bump wrapped in a yellow sash with a bow tied around the top.  Naruto had managed a small smile but the smiles donning the ravens' faces said a thousand words. 

They decided to tell Kiyoshi which ended with him asking lots of questions like why the baby was in his belly, how it got there, when and where it was going to come out and what it will look like.  So they decided it was best to take Kiyoshi with them to the follow up appointment. 

"I think they're going to be excited."  Itachi said hoping they would be excited as they were.
He had to admit he was nervous about Naruto's parents' reaction to their son having both ovarian and testicular tissue.
