Six o'clock and the sound of the alarm filled the once quiet room, disturbing the sleeping occupant in the room. A groan came out from under the orange bed cover and a tan hand snuck out from under it. The tanned hand patting around the table searching for the noisy contraption. After a few attempts and no success in finding the device a frustrated groan could be heard before a blonde-haired man popped his head out from the covers, grabbed his phone and pressed snooze. He sleepily looks at the time and considered he still has five minutes to spare for a quick nap before having to get up for work. And just like that a decision was made and he went back to sleep with the thought of only five minutes. No harm.
When he woke again he realized that the five minutes had turned into 30 minutes.
Throwing the blankets off of himself, he cursed under his breath as he grabbed a pair of jeans and a yellow shirt from the chest of drawers and darted into the bathroom to take a quick shower.
The smell of peonies from the scented body wash woke him up. He hurried to dry off and dress not bothering to brush his hair. He quickly brushed his teeth skipping the mouthwash. Grabbing his wallet and phone off of the nightstand and rushing down the stairs not bothering to eat something thankful he worked at a café. He slipped on his sneakers and jacket, grabbing the keys hanging by the door, taking a quick look around before locking and closing the door behind him.
He had no time to wait for the elevator to take him from the third floor of the apartment building he lives in to the lobby so he pushed open the entrance of the stairs taking them by two knowing he only had three minutes to make it to the bus station down the street.
Careful not to run into anyone he sprinted down the sidewalk seeing the bus down the street coming into view from around the next block. "On-time as usual," he said to himself in irritation that the transportation was always on schedule. He barely made it to the station's overhang just as it was coming to a halt and opening its doors. He boarded clearly out of breath taking a seat in the front by the window. He leaned his head against the window to catch his breath and slow his heart. 'You need to do better tomorrow.' Scolding himself for always needing to rush.
