Alisha had been in the kitchen all day, she had baked and cooked and Aegon and Helaena helped her with the veggies. Aemonds little tongue stuck out licking around hoping for a lick of something delicious he smelled. Alisha would bring the spatula to him and he was slobber at it happily. Then she got dressed in her best red dress. She dressed her children and kissed Viserys for good luck.
"You are perfect, your food is delicious they will love it." Viserys assured as Rhaenys and Corlys took their seats. Laenor was giddy as he tucked his napkin into his collar.
"Ser Criston, would you like to join us? I made a lot, please." Alisha requested. Criston wanted to accept but it wasnt right.
"I... I would love to but perhaps another night." Criston offered. "I wouldnt want the Velaryon's to think I'm over shadowing them." He teased and she chuckled nodding.
"Very well, then you will have some leftovers tonight after." Alisha insisted. "It is the best on the first day."
"I would be delighted." Criston agreed. Alisha looked around the table as she made her way to Viserys side.
"Thank you lord Corlys and Lord Laenor for catching such lovely fish for our supper." Alisha remarked.
"Of course your grace." Corlys agreed. "Laenor said you made quite the meal for him."
"Yes and I didn't forget he said you liked turnips?" Alisha recalled.
"I think I said ive never had a turnip taste good." Corlys countered with a laugh.
"I enjoy them." Rhaenys corrected.
"Wonderful," Alisha agreed. "I hope you enjoy mine as well." She presented the dishes as they were brought in.
"Lovely presentation." Rhaenys offered as her plate was placed. ALisha smiled back at Viserys.
"What you see before you is a honey roasted beet and arugula salad. it has Avocado, Sun-Dried Cranberries, Spicy Walnuts, Goat Cheese, Field Greens, and my special Honey Balsamic Dressing." Alisha declared. "To your right, a parmesan crusted tilapia. Again thank you for catching such beautiful fish."
Laenor moaned out as he took a bite. Rhaenyra rolled her eyes.
"It has a Lemon-Thyme Butter Sauce, Sautéed mixed Vegetables from the garden, Aegon helped me pick them out." Alisha added and Aegon gave her a thumbs up. "And then garlic Mashed Potatoes. Because everything tastes better with garlic and potatoes." she mused.
"I never knew the queen could cook." Corlys remarked.
"Neither did I." Rhaenys agreed softly.
"And I know this looks like a lot because I went a little overboard," Alisha chuckled. "We also have buttered turnips. It also has shallots, tarragon, garlic, dill, paprika and cracked pepper... enjoy." ALisha said as she lifted a glass to them.
"Thank you, thank you so much." Alisha answered. Rhaenyra rose a curious brow, why was she being so nice, so different? What was her problem?

"I find turnips dont have much flavor on their own so I use a lot of spices to enhance their taste and texture." Alisha remarked.
"Where did you learn to cook?" RHaenys pondered.
"Oh, when I was younger..." Alisha tired to remember if she told them any details the last time someone asked her about her cooking journey. "Since I came to the capital I had less time to bake but it was like swimming." ALisha offered. "Once you start it all comes back and the recipes and ingredients just fell into place." she offered.
"This is lovely, everything is delicious. Laenor hasnt stopped talking about your cooking." Corlys declared. "And I understand why." Him and Laenor both were already on a second helping and it brought ALisha such pride and calmed her nervous stomach. she had been in knots knowing that Rhaenyra wanted her to impress- or maybe to fail in front of Rhaenys and Corlys- so Alisha wanted everything to be perfect. So Rhaenyra would see that Alisha wasnt the enemy. She should not treat her as such.
"You are such a good mother." Laenor remarked before he realized what he was saying. Alisha looked up from Helaena as she wiped her little lips.
"Oh, thank you." Alisha answered blushing. "I'm quite proud of our children. Hopefully you will have many children of your own someday soon." She offered looking between them.
"I'm pregnant." Rhaenyra agreed softly and there was a round of applause and well dones, congratulations. Alisha felt honored that Rhaenyra wanted her to host the supper but then again maybe she didnt and it was Laenor and his family that wanted her to host.
"What glorious news." Viserys agreed.
"Congradulations." Alisha agreed. Maybe motherhood would make her less grouchy.

"And for dessert we have a lady finger cake!" Alisha declared.
"I'm so full." Corlys remarked patting his stomach but alisha out the cake down. "Well maybe just a piece." He agreed happily.

The night was a success. Rhaenyra even thanked her after the velaryons sung their praises and deemed their stomaches about to explode with yummy goodness.
