ARISU'S POV

A week had passed since the accident and Kiyo hadn't woken up yet.

Niragi seemed out of his mind by now; he had taken all the days off he could and was in the hospital for all the hours when visits were allowed, and every occasion was good to start arguing with the nurses or doctors on duty.

On the other hand, Chishiya, who worked in that very hospital (albeit in another department), went to see Kiyo when Niragi was not there.

The hatred and anger between those two was at an all-time high.

Kuina and I always visited our friend together, because neither of us wanted to be alone with

Niragi, who still blamed us for the accident.

That day we went to see her just before visiting hours ended, and when we left Kiyo's room, followed by Niragi, we ran into Chishiya, who was starting his shift.

"Guys, come with me for a moment." Chishiya beckoned us to follow him. "You too, Niragi." He added, since Niragi had stood still; the latter, surprised, followed us.

Chishiya ushered us into a waiting room, deserted at that time.

Seeing him in his white coat and with his hair up, always had a strange effect on me.

"I have some news." He said, closing the door. "But it has to stay between us, because the doctors looking after Kiyo are talking about it right now."

"Well?" Niragi asked. "What is it?"

"Apparently, they want to transfer Kiyo to a private clinic where-"

"That's out of the question." Niragi interrupted him.

"If you let me finish..." Chishiya gave him one of his looks.

Niragi was about to speak again, but Kuina put a hand on his mouth.

"Go ahead." I said, urging Chishiya to continue.

"It's a private clinic where they deal exclusively with studying patients in a coma or who've recently come out of it." Chishiya explained. "From what I've heard, there's something wrong with Kiyo's coma and if they transfer her there, they could do some research and probably some experiments too."

"You're stupid if you think I'll let some guys experiment on my sister!" Niragi took Kuina's hand away from his mouth.

"First, the guys are trained doctors and second, by experiments, I mean they'll make various attempts to try and figure out how to wake her up, genius." Chishiya replied ironically. "Do you really think I'd let someone randomly test my girlfriend?"

"She's not your girlfriend!" Niragi was furious again and was already approaching Chishiya.

"Enough!" Kuina shouted .

"Stop it!" I added, putting myself between the two. "This attitude of yours doesn't help us."

"I just said the truth." Chishiya said, smiling and angering Niragi even more.

"Chishiya." I said through clenched teeth, giving him a glare.

"Anyway, now you know. They're all going to call us in the morning to tell us." Then, he headed for the door.

"Where are you going?" Kuina asked him.

"To work, my shift starts in 10 minutes." And he closed the door behind him.

"That arrogant piece of-" Niragi had gone back to being, well like Niragi, but Kuina cut him off.

"Niragi, stop. Your concern right now should be Kiyo and not their relationship!"
