♡ Dave and Bambi: Dreamscapes ♡

Someone Else

You become grounded once again, having no idea how much time has passed. You're no longer in the dining area; Now you stand in the kitchen, with Dave staring at the ground in horror.
On the ground lies Dale, with a pan shoved through his skull and into the corner of his head.
"Why...how...why did you do this?" Dave asks, seeming a little afraid of you now.
"I didn't." You reply.
"Then...what? But..." Despite being the adult in this situation, Dave is even more confused than you. Regardless, you have to focus on the mission, so you point to a hole in the ceiling.
"The Shadowed Pit of Despair." The voice in your head calls it. Pretty catchy name, don'cha think?
"Kid, how do you expect me to get up there?" Dave asks.
No response.
"Can you carry me?"
You try to pick him up. You fail, and you both fall to the ground. Dave rubs his legs in pain.
"Well Kid, seems like we've reached a dead end. How about we-" Suddenly, the scene turns pitch black. Cries of anguish echo through the void, surrounding you and Dave. A hand made of broken phones grabs you by the waist, carrying you upward to meet its owner's eyes.
"I thought I told you to find Expunged." Bandu says, his voice much more bashful than before. His mechanical hands feel cold against your skin, causing you to shiver.
"Let go of the kid, Bandu!" Dave shouts from below.
"Dreamknit Conbi was supposed to find my sibling. I went in here looking for him but I found nothing," Bandu turns to you, squeezing you tight. "So where is he?!" His grip is so tight that it's impossible to breathe.
"Bandu, calm down. We can still help you find Expunged. Right now we're trying to meet up with Bambi."
Bandu lightens his grip, still holding onto you.
"Dreamknit, where do we go from here?" Dave asks.
"Up." You reply.
Dave thinks for a moment. He brightens up once he figures out an idea.
"Bandu, take us up." Dave demands with a smile. Bandu rolls his eyes, but he does listen. He throws both of you into the air, giving you guys enough momentum to climb out of the pit. Dave pulls himself up onto the grassy cliff, collapsing in exhaustion. You join him, laying down on the damp ground. The air is humid, for it must've rained before your arrival.
You feel someone leaning over you. It's Bambi, who still looks distant and numb. He's looking at you, though it seems like he's not actually seeing you.
Dave hops up and gives the little farmer a hug. Then he loses his balance, dropping Bambi on the ground. Dave mumbles swear words under his breath, as Bambi just lies there, staring at the sky. There's something unsettling about his gaze, sending a shiver down your spine. He was kinda bland before but...it seems like he's gotten worse.
"What's wrong with Bambi?" Dave asks you.
You shrug.
"There's nothing wrong, Dave. The pit has separated me from my emotions. I feel...nothing." Bambi continued to stare at the clouds. The sun would set soon, made evident by the cool air and the pink hues of the surrounding sky.
"Well...I guess we should go inside." Dave says.
And so, you assist Dave in carrying Bambi to the barn. But as you're floating towards the building, you're captivated by the corn once again. It looks so bright and tasty...a good maze for sure. Dave's wheelchair is stuck in the pit. You can't just leave him. At the same time...that corn is so irresistible. You just need to drop him for one second, just one, to take a bite out of that sweet, juicy corn. Before you can even approach the corn, you feel something hit the back of your head. It falls to the ground, and Bambi promptly picks it up.
"Hands off the corn, Meanie."
