Vivien Heartstring (P.O.V.)

As the early sunlight filtered onto the pier, we all began to gather by a large ship. This ship was meant to go far from the looks of it and hold as many people as we had. We all got on in single file order. I held Melody for April while April held Amy. We found a spot to sleep in the cargo bay that allowed April quick access to her sword at a moment's notice.

One of Kevin's people found the sword and had brought it back to the warehouse to use in case he felt he needed to end his suffering under the process that the R2A took. Thankfully, we found him and the others before he could and in turn saved his life.

April placed her sword against the wall, and I placed mine right beside it. We set our area up so that the girls had comfortable pillows and blankets. April had agreed that the best thing to do was to sleep in our tiger forms but have shifts in case someone pulled something while we slept.

As we went to sit down, a clamor up on the main deck caught our attention. I looked at April as I headed for the stairs, receiving a swift nod from her. I climbed onto the main deck and saw a young woman with black hair and eyes that were as blue as ice. She looked over at me and sighed, giving me a small smile.

"Vivien Heartstring. My name is Isabella. My grandfather died last night, but before he did, he told me that I should be able to find his eldest sister in New Orleans on her way home." The young woman said as she gave me a sad look.

"What are you talking about? Jeremy died in 1974. I watched it." I said with a confused look.

"Is it alright if I take out my phone and show you a picture of my grandpa?" Isabella asked as she glanced at Xalva and Kane.

I nodded and walked over to her. I held out my hand for the phone as she took it out of her back pocket. I noticed the duffel bag sitting at her feet and as she handed me her phone, something in me told me she could be telling me the truth. I looked down at the picture on her phone and dropped to my knees.

On the screen was a photo of my brother, but so much older than I remember. That smile of his I would never forget. It was the smile he gave me when he told me he wanted to be chosen as the greatest wizard around, but he was taken away that same day. I watched Jeremy, Mother, and Father pass away. How could he have survived and had children not to mention grandchildren?

Isabella offered me her hand, trying to help me up. I let her help me to my feet and I handed her back her phone. She turned her phone off and pulled me into a hug.

I hugged her back, thankful that she had come to tell me that my brother had not died when I had thought he had. Since I was fourteen I had thought my brother had died that day because of me. I carried the guilt with me for fifty-one years of my life.

"He had a journal and I figured you would want to read it." Isabella said as she let me go and reached for the duffel bag.

Having seen how I was with Isabella, Xalva and Kane left the girl be, but Kane kept a close eye from a few feet away. Isabella took out a leather-bound journal and handed it to me.

"He would want you to see this. It's his journal like he said you kept." Isabella said as she wiped away a few tears.

"How did you even find me?" I asked as I held the book.

I gestured down the stairs and she began to walk down the stairs beside me. We made our way over to April and her children at which time Isabella had finished telling me about how she had found me. She had explained that Jeremy learned projection magic and had taught her how to use projection magic as well as nature's magic. She knew how to do illusion magic, but she wasn't too good at it. She had used her projection magic and had managed to stay hidden from my line of sight to be able to see where we were going and in turn, get there herself.
