April Patrick (P.O.V)
As soon as I finished the speech, I headed straight home. I wanted to say goodbye to my girls and write them a letter in case I didn't make it back to them. I walked into their room, looking down at how peacefully they slept. I smiled and kissed them on their foreheads. I grabbed a pen and a piece of paper, sitting down in the rocking chair.
Dear Melody and Amy Patrick,
You two might not remember me by the time you read this letter. My name is April Patrick and I'm your mom. I needed to write you two a letter in case I didn't make it back from the battle we're about to go into with the people who took over Arilis. I don't know who is taking care of you, but I hope they are doing a good job. Otherwise, I might try to come out of death's doors to protect you.
You two are everything I could have ever wished for and what I could have ever dreamed for. I know people might look at you two differently because of who your father is, but you're not your father's daughters. You're my babies. You're my little lights that I will do everything and anything to get back to. I will not abandon you to be raised by someone else like my mother did.
Your father won't be around by the time you read this letter if I don't make it back and the reason for that is I plan to kill him for everything he has done. He has lied to me, betrayed my trust, betrayed the trust of our people, and he has threatened the very livelihood I wish for you girls to grow up in. I hope when you read this letter, you are in Arilis and not Haven.
As I sit here, you two are asleep in your crib and I am preparing for the battle that could be my last. I hope with every ounce of my being that neither of you inherits the R2A blood from me and that you two can live free of worry from attacks made by the vampires and witches. There is something you two should know in case he ever finds you.
Michael Winter is your grandfather, and I don't know if I'll be able to stop him. I want to stop him, and I want to end this whole cat and mouse game with the vampires. We are not their property. We are people they forced experiments on, but Michael has done something far worse than anything our people know about. He has done something to me to allow my body to go through the R2A process twice and no one else has gone through this to my knowledge. There might be other things wrong with me that he did when I was a fetus inside my mother's belly. I must investigate it at some point after this battle is over and we win.
If Alex is the one watching over you girls, I want you to know that I raised him from the age of ten to eighteen. He should raise you if I can't in the way I wish I can raise you. Zackery, the werewolf alpha, his parents were friends of mine who helped me out along the journey I took from learning all about the Supernatural world to when they needed me to help them by taking over making sure their son was safe.
I'm going to end this letter here and finish getting ready for this fight. I love you two so much that I can't describe it. I hope you two have had the most fulfilling lives that I wished for you two.
Sincerely,
Your Mom,
April Patrick
As I finished writing the letter, I heard a knock on my door. I folded up the letter and placed it on my bed with their names on it. I walked over to the door and opened it, spotting Kevin and Lorine.
"Ah. April. We were wondering if you were ready to leave yet and if you have figured out who will take your children into the tunnel that Alex had suggested we hide everyone who wasn't going in." Kevin spoke.
