Chapter 9

Sahari's POV

He looked somewhat shocked with an unfamiliar expression , he still smiled at me and damn I blushed lowering my head

I can't believe I have a crush on my boss

" You have a baby ?" He asked with a small smile ,

" Yeah , 10 months old baby girl" I said taking a sip from the bottle

" That's good , I really like when women love their babies and not reject or abandon them" He said smiling up at me , it was like he was proud of me

" Yeah but I have to be there for her I'm the only parent , she has 3 uncles who spoil her and lover her just the same" I bit my lip lowering my head thinking about Milani's dad

" Oh I'm sorry - I held up my hand there was nothing to be sorry about , I hate that man with every fiber of my body but I also thank him for Lani

" No don't be sorry about anything you had nothing to do with it , but mi appreciate it" 

I chuckled looking at the time on my watch , with the situation with the girl it was now time for me to go home

" Umm.... Thanks again Doc I'll see you another day" I said getting ready to walk out ,

" Wait-

I turned around to see him walking with his phone ,

" Can I have your number please?" He asked nervously,

I nodded and smiled

I always liked saving my name with an emoji, I walked out taking small sips from the coconut water , I walked back into the lab and collected my stuff .

I walked to my car unlocking it , I put my stuff around the back closing the door and getting in .

I turned on the car , letting it warm up a bit my A/C was on and I slowly rocked to the song playing

It was an old song but I think it still has a vibe , I pulled on the seat belt and drove out heading towards the town . I didn't want to cook this evening so I was gonna get something, I had already ordered so I'll just be picking up .

I got the food , which was barbecue and spicy wings with cheesy fries.

I bought a small box of chicken pizza and wah next box of fries

Mi affi eat my food  maybe ah das why mi batty so big , maybe but mi love mi body and mi love me self but ah juss sometimes mi wonda how people see me

I stopped at my mom's house, I hugged Malik and Jude kissing both their cheeks . They helped me with the baby to the car , I hugged my mom bye and quickly got home .

I placed Milani in her crib letting her watch Coco Melon , I quickly showered and got dressed in a white marina and a black booty shorts .

I wrapped my hair in a bun and lifted Milani ,

" Mommy baby .... You're so pretty"

She giggled as I tickled her

" Milani I love you baby"

I placed her beside me , she immediately crawled to lay on my chest I didn't want to make her a bottle .

I pulled up my blouse , she quickly attached herself to my breast . I smiled down at her taking up my box with wings and fries eating watching as she sucked .

My phone rang , it was him on FACETIME

I answered the phone and he chuckled seeing me eating , I smiled

" Hey , how you doing?" He asked as I watched him

" Mi know dis ago sound weird but yuh talk patois?" He laughed hearing my question

" Yeah mi talk patois , I get so caught up in speaking English that I hardly do it anymore"

I laughed and I felt Lani lift her head to look up at me and I smiled softly running my finger through her hair

" Eat baby , don't mind mommy" she slowly lowered her head to continue and her mouth made a loud sucking sound

My eyes widened , and I heard him chuckle I flushed in embarrassment

" My name's Rome I don't want you calling me Doctor when we aren't at work"

" Rome Shaw, not bad I like it"

Like? I loved it 🤭💗

It's unique knowing that not many Jamaicans would have the same name , just like me .

" Yeah , my mom wanted to go Rome to have me but I came early so she said ' Why not?' and named me after the place" I nodded my head smiling

" Are you working tomorrow?" I asked knowing he'd probably be busy

" No Doctor Grant will be in along with the other surgeons but if a problem comes up then I'll have to clock in you know"

" So can I call you tomorrow?"

Look yah , yuh deh yah ah mek big plans and yuh doh know if the man have a mad gyal wah will claat yuh dung , my subconscious yelled and I rolled my eyes mentally

" Yeah sure , Have a good night ma where's the baby ?" He asked peaking trying to see her

He cares about her , awwww

I moved the camera on her and I saw Rome smirk ,

" Damn ..." I was confused before realizing he was talking about my breast

" Rome stop" I giggled trying to hide my face , which was slightly red I was blushing?

" Aight foreal now"

I turned the camera around on her and he smiled seeing her face ,

" Wow she's so beautiful, I see where she gets the beauty from . Goodnight baby girl and be nice to mommy and goodnight ma"

I smiled and I felt butterflies,

" Good night Rome"

He smiled at me before hanging up , I squealed feeling all fuzzy inside and Lani giggled seeing me acting crazy .

He's definitely my type
