It's so funny seeing her around and nobody knows that we talk differently.

I had just gotten into my house when the smell of curry chicken hit my face

Yayyy!!!! My mom's here

" Mommy Ruth " I said stopping behind the island , I smiled innocently at her while she frowned at me washing her hands and coming to hug me

" Hey sweetheart, how mi son ah do?" She asked holding my face in her hands ,

" Mi deh yah , mi did have surgery todeh" she nodded patting my back walking into the kitchen

" Yuh nuh plan fi mi get no grand kids?" She said eyeing me , turning down her stove

I stood up and started to walk up the stairs , I took a shower and headed downstairs again .

" Mommy how yuh neva tell mi seh yuh did ago come ?" I asked leaning on the counter watching as she stirred her pot ,

My phone rang , it was Sahari telling me she was home and hanging out with her brothers

I could hear Lani's faint giggles and screams , I spoke to her until her mom called her . We said goodbye and I looked up at my mom smiling at me

" Rome ? Ah who yah smile wid suh ?" Mommy asked with her hands on her hips looking at me

" Yuh nuh finish cook yet mom? Check yuh pot man" I said ignoring her question, mi seh Ruth violent enuh

I sighed and FaceTimed her ,

It was much more quiet now , and I heard coco melon in the back ground playing

" Hey stinkkkk" she laughed when I frowned at her ,

She knew I didn't like the name , why stink tho ?

" Sahari what did I say bout the name?" I asked trying not to smile with her ,

Lani immediately crawled on top of her , she smiled when she saw me

" Hey baby girl , are you okay ?" I knew she couldn't speak enough but she babbles

She said something in gibberish, and I laughed before responding

" Yeah ..... mommy so rude calling me stink"

I looked over at my mom to see her smiling softly , I chuckled at how she looked very pleased and at peace

As soon as Lani got distracted by her cartoon again , Sahari was on the screen

I passed the phone to my mom , and they began talking

" Hi sweetheart I'm Rome's mom Ruth , I hope he's been treating you good ?"

" Hi Ms. Ruth yes your son has been good , how you doing ?" I could hear the smile in her voice which made me happy

" You're very beautiful" my mom said

They continued talking , and after mommy gaan to har bed mi talk to Sahari

Mi tell har seh wi ago party the Saturday night , and she was kinda excited seh ah long time she nuh go ah dance
