The guards grabbed a fire torch from the wall and took Fran down a bunch of stairs towards the cells, the only light source being the torches on the walls, they grabbed some keys from their pocket and threw Fran in a cell and immediately locked the door behind her. Fran watched as the guards walked away and the light from the fire became dimmer until it was gone. Fran was left alone in the cold, damp chambers of the cell. Fran sat on the floor recalling the events in her head over and over again, how didn't she see it coming?
"Francesca?" a voice said from the cell opposite her, she recognised it instantly, two hands appeared from the darkness of his cell and then his head came into light
"A- Aiden?" Fran asked
"What are you doing down here? Are you hurt?" Aiden asked in a rush as he noticed Fran holding her arm
"Just a few scrapes here and there- what happened to your face?" Fran asked quickly noticing the redness and blood stains on his face
"It's nothing- just- after they found out I let you out- they beat me and threw me down here...." Fran's face fell
"I'm sorry" she said, Aiden looked up at her
"It's not your fault, I knew the consequences my actions would have but I couldn't stand there and watch them hurt you" Aiden said, Fran was taken back,
"Im surprised, your from Sarichia- your supposed to hate me"
"I've had a change in heart" Aiden said making them both giggle, Fran smiled
"Well, It's nice hearing some people care- when everyone you've ever trusted has just turned their back on you"
"What?" Aiden asked
"I fucked it! I dragged our kingdoms into war, I'm afraid I'll never get it back" Fran said turning away from him
"Our kingdoms were doomed to fall apart, whatever you've started or may have prompted, it's our fate" There conversation was quickly interrupted when a guard came in unlocking the cell doors
"What's going on?" Aiden asked
"The king has demanded every prisoner be let out" the guard said unlocking Fran's but immediately putting her in cuffs
"Hey what are you doing!" Fran said jolting her arms away from the guard Aiden shoved the guard away from her,
"Watch it man, I wasn't allowed to stab you last time but I could well now" the guard said bringing himself face to face with Aiden
"I fucking dare you!" Aiden said putting his hands outstretched, the guards rolled his eyes and grabbed hold of Fran again, Aiden shoved him again
"Get away from her man" the guard punched Aiden round the face making his lip bleed, Aiden smeared the blood with his thumb and looking at it chuckling
"You're gonna wish you didn't do that" Aiden punched the guard and grabbed his jacket and pinned him up against the wall punching him again, the guard kneed Aiden but Aiden swung his left fist across his face knocking him out across the floor, Aiden stood for a moment looking at the body
"Aiden! We gotta move" Fran said as they both dashed up the stairs and into one of the hallways.
They ran down left and right trying to find the exit
"I've been here my whole life and this castle always felt like a prison" Aiden said out of breath,
Fran grabbed a sword from a knight stand for protection and grabbed another one and threw it to Aiden, they both eventually found two double doors in the middle of there hallway projecting light that they assumed lead to outside but Fran held out her arm to stop Aiden running past her as she let out a gasp and hid behind the doors, she peered around to see that it was a balcony and stood on the balcony was Jacob and five guards behind him, Fran put a finger to her lips signaling Aiden to be quiet and listened in on what he was saying
