Despite it all

Chapter eleven

I was waiting patiently outside my house for Adrian's arrival and hoped that my parents wouldn't notice a boy was about to give me a ride. After standing outside for a few minutes, he came. He stopped and opened the door for me from the inside.

- What's this? I said and looked at my seat

- What's what? He asked

- The flowers?

- Are as beautiful as you are

I smiled at him before taking the flowers and sat down on my seat. He took off and I admired the flowers for a few seconds, white tulips.

After school

- I need to go to town real quick but I can give you a ride home after that?

- I can come with you

- Are you sure?

- Yeah!

We started walking from school to town since it was only a five minute walk. We went by a few stores and one off them catches my eye. I stopped and admired the beautiful dress behind the window for a few seconds and totally forgot about Adrian.

- You want it? He said

I came back to reality and shook my head.

- What? No, no it's probably expensive

He watched me as I watched the dress.

- I can buy it for you

I turned my head to him and gave him an angry expression.

- I would never ask you to buy me anything that's worth that kind off money

- No money in this world will ever matter more than your happiness

- That is very sweet of you, let's go

We started to walk again and soon enough, we were outside my psychologist's office. What are we doing here?

- I just need to leave these keys upstairs, wait here.

He said and went into the building. I was still wondering what we were doing here and why he needed to leave his keys. I waited for a few minutes until he finally came back cause I was freezing.

- I just need to run one more errand but here you have my car keys and just walk to the car and wait for me, okay? He said and handed me his car keys.

I nodded and started to walk fast towards our school again since the car was parked there. I arrived, opened the car, sat down, turned on the heat directly and waited for a few minutes again.

I was focusing on something outside the window when the drivers car door opened and he popped his face up and lifted up a big white bag.

- What's this now?

- This, is something I'll except that you will be wearing tonight

- Tonight?

- We're going to have dinner

- Dinner? Where? And with who?

- My parents have their business opening tonight, and I would like to take you with me

I smiled at him. He wants me to meet his parents?

- So, I'll have to meet your parents?

- Well, if you don't want to you can probably hide in the bathroom for some hours

He said sarcastic and rolled his eyes at me. He came into the car, closed his car door and handed me the bag.

- So, then I'll just go and return this? Since you're just going to hide?

I smiled and opened up the bag. It was the dress. I laughed a little before turning to him, trying to be a little mad.

- Are you crazy? I told you not to buy it Adrian

- Yeah I know, and I didn't listen

- You are such a stubborn boy

He smiled at me.

- Do you like it?

I turned my face to the dress one more time and smiled.

- I love it

We looked at each other for a long time and just smiled. Sometimes it actually hits me that I'm with my kindergarten crush and that were actually hanging out. But I do not complain, I love hanging out with him. I'm not even sure what we are, I'm just so happy that I doesn't have to be at home all the time and be with him.
