I woke up and my room was still quiet. I took a quick look to my left and saw her laying there, still asleep. I reached for my phone on the night stand.

3 missed calls and 9 messages.

Lucas 6.11am
" are you coming with us? "

Me 7.24am
" sorry bro, I forgot "

I put my phone back on my nightstand and checked on her one more time. School starts in half an hour, but I didn't want to wake her up. She deserved to get some sleep.

I tried to quietly get up from my bed, took a cigarette and went out on the balcony. It was a sunrise, a beautiful one.

I lighted my cigarette and admired the sun and view.

- So, you're a smoker?

I jumped a bit before turning towards my balcony door and there she was standing. Leaning against the wall.

- I'll have to say yes

- Huh, that was unexpected

- Really?

- No, not really

I smiled a bit to her sarcasm and watched her go back to bed. I threw away my cigarette and closed the door behind me.

- School starts soon

I said and threw myself on the bed, wondering what she wanted to do.

- I know, I'm not going

- Great, then I'm not either

She looked at me with a confused face that later turned into a smile.

- Breakfast?

- Only if it's breakfast in bed

I smiled, got up and went to the kitchen downstairs to get her some breakfast. To my surprise I ran into mom.

- Aren't you at work?

- Working from home today and going to the office later

I gave her a quick hug and walked towards the refrigerator to take some butter and cheese.

- I have someone over

I turned around to see her face expression. She took a sip of her coffee and stared at me.

- Okay, who is she?

- A girl from school, there were something's happening yesterday and I didn't want her to be alone and she didn't want to be alone so I took her here

- You're such a sweet boy

I smiled and laughed a bit. I finished making the sandwiches and grabbed some juice before making my way up to the bedroom again.

- Breakfast is served my lady

She was laying down in bed with my quilt over her lower body and the hoodie I gave her yesterday

- Hope you don't mind that I borrowed your hoodie.

- It's yours now.

She looked at me and smiled big. I cannot explain how much I indeed love that smile and her bright shiny eyes. I handed her a plate with two sandwiches and a glas of juice. I sat down at my side of the bed beside her. I took a look at her and noticed her necklace. Amara.

- Amara?

- Yeah?

- What exactly happened yesterday?

I didn't know if it was offensive of me to ask her, but I needed to know what had happened so I can make sure it never happens again. She sighted and sat up.

- I just had a small fight with my parents

I could tell that she was lying, but I didn't want her to feel pressed to tell me anything.

- Are you sure?

- Yes, nothing bad I just went out to take some air and that's when you drove by and probably got a different picture of it all

She avoided eye contact with me. I knew she was lying. But I'm not going to make her tell me, I know she will when she's ready.

AMARAS PERSPECTIVE

I lied. It wasn't a small fight. But I don't know if I can trust him yet, he will have to prove me he is trustworthy before I open up about anything, especially my family.

- Can you give me a ride to town later?

- Sure, something planned?

I was unsure if I could tell him, but I just said it.

- I have an appointment

He nodded and kept eating his sandwich. He didn't ask me a following question and I could see on his face that he was uncomfortable. I smiled a bit.

- You're not going to ask me a following question?

He looked up at me confused with his whole mouth filled with juice before swallowing it. His face made me smile a bit more.

- Like, what appointment? Where is it? Who is it with?
I continued.

I laughed a little and he laughed with me, probably because he got uncomfortable.

- No I'm not

- Why?

- If you really wanted me to know you would have said "I have an appointment at that time with that person and we're going to talk about this" and you didn't so I'm not going to push you

- So you can be sweet sometimes?

- I'm always sweet

- Oh really?

I started poking his arm and he eventually started tickling me.

- Yes I am

He said while laughing. Our poking led to us tickling each other and laughing out loud. It felt like I couldn't breath and I haven't been this happy for a long long time.
