Chapter 20: A Risky Proposition

As I watched Seraphina become more distant with me, I knew that I had to do something. I couldn't stand the thought of losing her as a friend, but I also couldn't ignore my feelings towards her.

I knew that I had to marry my business fiancé to secure my place as CEO, but I also knew that I didn't love her. My heart belonged to Seraphina, and I was willing to do anything to make her mine.

So I devised a plan. I acted cold towards her, hoping to push her away and make her believe that I didn't care about her anymore. And then, I made a risky proposition.

I contacted Seraphina and told her that if she wanted a higher position in the company, she would have to marry me. At first, she was hesitant, but after some convincing, she agreed.

It was a risky move, but I was willing to do anything to make her mine. I knew that it would be a challenge, but I was determined to make it work.

Seraphina's POV:

When Alaric made the proposition, I was stunned. I didn't know what to say or how to react. But deep down, I knew that I had feelings for him too.

Though our relationship had started in lies and betrayal, the truth was, I had never stopped loving him. Our friendship was a fragile veil, hiding deeper feelings that refused to fade.

After much consideration, I agreed to his proposal. It was a risky move, but I was willing to take the chance. If this was the only way I could be with him, then so be it.

As we worked together, our relationship began to change. We were no longer just colleagues or friends, but we were becoming something more. We shared our hopes and dreams, and we supported each other through every challenge.

It wasn't easy, but we made it work. And as we stood at the altar, ready to exchange our vows, I knew that I had made the right decision.

As we walked down the aisle, hand in hand, I couldn't help but feel grateful for this unexpected turn of events. We had started as colleagues, then became friends, and now, we were getting married.

It was a risky move, but it had paid off. Our love had overcome every obstacle, and we were ready to embark on a new journey together.

As we said our vows, I knew that Alaric was the one for me. Our relationship may have started as a business proposition, but it had grown into something more - something beautiful and real.

And as we shared our first kiss as husband and wife, I knew that our love story was just beginning.

Our journey was long and complicated, filled with twists and turns we never could have anticipated. But through it all, our hearts had stayed side by side. We lived on, forever changed and forever bonded, by memories of joy and sorrow, lies and truth, heartache and peace found.
