"Oh my god!" Mia exclaimed running to the closest opening to the garden. All the students were running to the windows as well, in excitement. "Is this Beauxbattons?" she asked to no one in particular as her shining eyes followed the winged horses and the carriage land.
But she got an answer nonetheless. "They're here for a special purpose." Mia swung around to look at his face. He must have followed her here, probably wondering about the blue carriage too. Mia's amused smile grew as she realized he would have some answers.
"How do you know? Why are they here?"
"My father told me." he shrugged giving her a smirk that initiated she wouldn't learn anything from him. "If I tell you the secret will be ruined." he took her by the shoulders, turning her around for her to watch the rest of the show. His hands never left her shoulders as they stood together and all Euphemia could think was Malfoy's hands not the scene before them. She forced herself to watch though. "Look," he pointed his finger at the approaching boat. It was small, a man was standing on it with a spyglass. She was about to decide she didn't find the boat as important as the carriage but just as she was about to open her mouth the boat started to rise in the water. A ship! The mightiest ship she had ever seen rose from the water. It was such a magical moment and Mia was grinning so widely that she felt her cheeks hurting. It is nothing like the muggle ships, bigger than all of them, made out of fine wood. She couldn't help but gasp at the sight.
"This is so beautiful." The flag of the ship opened revealing a crest she assumed belonged to another wizarding school. "Which school is this?" she asked tilting her head to the side to hear his answer better from all the yelling students. She knew he would know the answer. She couldn't pinpoint why but every time she talked to him she was reminded he knew much more than her and it was saying something considering she was a Ravenclaw.
"Durmstrang, from Bulgaria," he said, pleased that she asked him for knowledge. He knew he didn't have to say anything else but when he saw her nodding eagerly he continued. "I almost went there myself. My mother thought it was too far."
"It really is," she commented. "too far from home. I can understand her. Look, they're being anchored. I guess we'll meet them over dinner." she turned to gaze into his eyes for the last time, his hands falling from her shoulders before anyone could see. They were always like this, Mia didn't label her confusing feelings for the boy but she liked how they would steal some moments in-betweens. It felt almost...special. "See you in the feast then?"
"Not a chance with all those Weasels and mudbloods around you but..." he trailed off. In their three years spent together Mia figured there was absolutely nothing she could do about his speech acts so she just kept her mouth shut. "See you later, Euphemia."
After he left she found herself being dragged away by Susan to somewhere. She didn't protest for she knew there was much to talk about for they didn't have a minute to themselves since the platform. The blonde girl seemed to know where she was going, their usual spot. They discovered it in their second year while trying to get to the greenhouses. They already know there were a lot of secrets to the castle but you can imagine their faces when they came across a literal secret garden. It seemed to be forgotten for ages when they first saw it, but now it was much more lively after two years of care by both Susan and Mia.
The girls had used their magic to get rid of all the weeds replacing them with flowers and ivies that blossomed every color in spring. Mia had cast a charm on the small fountain that flew into a pond a water charm so it never stopped or turned to ice even in the coldest weather. Mia would gladly sit on the grass every time they visited but since Susan got cold in winter she had transformed a rock into a bank last year. A bloody talented witch at transfiguration she was, she would be first in the class if it wasn't for Hermione. Mia and she shared the second spot.
