Note: So I made a mistake in publishing chapter 8 instead of 7. Here is the 7th one, hope it doesn't create any problems.
"Miss Euphemia?" she lifted her head from her book as she looked up to see the little girl from Beauxbatons Academy. The girl seemed extremely confused as she looked around the small garden. Mia was at Susan and her special place, reading the next week's transfiguration topic so she could have some foreknowledge. She hadn't expected to see anyone other than Susan since they didn't tell anyone about the garden but nevertheless, she closed her book and put her legs down to sit properly at the bank. "I think I'm lost. Can you show me the way to the... the big room?"
"The great hall?" she asked as the girl's eyes brightened. She nodded causing Mia to get up and place her book in her shoulder bag. She had been keeping herself away from everybody in the last two days due to her frustration with Professor Moody. She had barely left her room and if she did it was either to come to the garden or to serve detention with Flitwick. Lucky for her, since the term has just started and Flitwick liked her he just let her sit quietly during detention as he assessed her advanced books. The detention didn't really feel like it to Mia and she was grateful even though it had only been the first time. Maybe later on she might hate it. "Yes, of course, I can take you there. I was about to head there anyways."
"Merci!" the girl thanked as she followed Mia down the hall. As they walked the little girl realized she had taken the wrong turn causing her to find Mia. "My name is Gabrielle De'lacour."
"It's nice to meet you, Gabrielle. My name is Euphemia Potter and I'm a fourth year but I guess you already knew it." she shrugged.
"Qui," Gabrielle was a quite cheerful girl and she seemed to enjoy the talking portraits, waving her hands occasionally as they passed. "You're Harry Potter's brother."
"Sister. Yes. Everyone seems to know me for it." she chuckled lightly at the mistake as Gabrielle's cheeks reddened a bit. It was only normal for her to struggle with a new language.
"But there is also the girl talk!" Gabrielle protested, her French accent dripping from her voice. Mia raised an eyebrow at that. What did she mean by that? Before she could ask Gabrielle spilled all the tea. "Ze boys from Hogwarts and some from Durmstrang talk about you, a lot!" Mia frowned, they did? "They think I don't understand them because I didn't talk English to them before but I understand." One sneaky witch she was then, Mia smirked. "They say, 'She's got both the brains and the looks', I don't quite understand it but it must be something nice!" she beamed up at her. "You're nice too, Miss Euphemia, you always help around!" Mia gave her a genuine smile as they neared the great hall. "and your boyfriend is nice too."
Boyfriend!
What?
"I'm sorry but my boyfriend?" she asked her, quite sure that she heard the young girl wrong. Gabrielle nodded her head.
"Yes, the Slither one, light blond hair...um..." she trailed along looking for his name in her head as Mia was having a heart attack at her words. She got who she was talking about of course. "the...Dragon!" Gabrielle exclaimed loudly causing many eyes to turn and look at them. Mia gave onlookers a nervous smile as she grabbed Gabrielle's hand to pull her away from the crowd. Once she was satisfied with the spot she found she kneeled down so she faced Gabrielle with her hands on the shoulders of the younger witch.
"Listen, Gabrielle." she began. "I don't know where you got the idea but," she shushed the younger girl when she tried to say something. "no-it doesn't matter. Draco Malfoy, the Slytherin student, is not my boyfriend! He isn't. You see... my brother doesn't really like him. So, I don't want any misunderstandings to happen."
