Chapter 10

Ding dong ~

" Hi Liam. Please go in.." 

Said, Kate .

"Thank you. So who is that person you wanted to introduce me to?" 

Asked Liam in a tired voice. He was in a similar state when Lara found Kate in her office - pale with dark circles under his eyes. He followed Kate to the living room where Emily sat at.

" Hi Liam! I missed you so much! Please sit down." 

Lara said excitedly. She wanted to meet her brother for ages. 

" I'm sorry, do I know you? I don't recall meeting you before." 

He said while carefully sitting on the chair next to the couch she sited on.

" Liam, this is Lara. Your sister and my wife. We think that her soul got transferred into the dead body of some girl named Emily. We can't be 100% sure about that but there's one thing certain - it is really Lara and..."

" For fucking sake Kate! Lara is dead. I understand that it's hard to live on without her but don't fucking replace her with some bitch who doesn't even look like her!"

 "She's telling the truth, Liam. You can ask me questions so you can find them out yourself. Kate already did and trust me, she can for sure recognize her wife."

The man who was bursting with anger decided to calm down. Yeah, he could ask her a question. He didn't like Kate but he shouldn't let her get scammed by some bitch keen on her money.

" The color of the cake on my 18th birthday. "

" Pink. Mom knew you liked raspberries so she wanted to make a cream with them. It turned out pink thanks to that. You didn't like the color but the cake was still delicious as always."

" My favorite book" 

" Wampirates. A book about vampires who were pirates. I gave you these books on your 23rd birthday."

" Fuck. You're really good. I can see why Kate has fallen for that. But what will you say about this question? What's my favorite photo!"

" Oh.. you were always smart Liam. It's a tricky question. You don't have one. You once told me that you love every photo of our family. When I asked you to pick one you just couldn't."

Lara smiled softly while looking at him. His eyes widened again but not with anger but with shock.

" No, it can't be... Lara?" 

"Yes brother, it's me."He rushed to her and hugged her.

"Oh, Lara. I m-missed you so much. We thought you were dead. We watched y-you die. " 

His voice waivered at the sudden urge of emotions."

 It's okay now Liam. I'm alive and safe now. That's all that matters" He nodded in agreement at her words and finally let go of her.

" So, do you want to hear my story?"

" Yeah, go on. I want to hear how it all happened." He looked at Kate with a hint of jealousy." Why didn't you find me first if you knew that I would believe you?"

" You know the answer, Liam. Kate is my wife. Of course, I would tell her first."He nodded in agreement. It was a stupid question and he already knew the answer.

After talking to her brother Lara invited Liam to eat dinner together with her and Kate. While eating the girl didn't realize the jealous glares Kate sent to her brother nonstop as they were eating. Her lover was burning with anger seeing her so close to someone that wasn't her. Kate hated the way she was looking at her brother. It would be better if he didn't recognize and believed her. That way they would probably never meet again. Looking at them Kate was anxious. She didn't want to lose Lara again. He always had a bad influence on her. What if he will want her to work at their so dangerous company or would want to take her away from her? She couldn't let that happen. She will have to get ready for him.

Lara was doing the dishes when suddenly she heard her phone ring. It was Kate.

 Hi darling! Why are you calling me?"

" Lara... I need you to sit down. It's about your brother."

" Why do you sound like that? Did something bad happen to him? You're scaring me."

" Today's morning he tripped and fell down the company's stairs. His brain got damaged because of that. He got into a coma and is now in the hospital getting treatment. I'm so sorry sweetie. I know he meant so much to you."L

ara was silent for a few seconds processing what she had just heard." No, it can't be... It was just yesterday we meet again. It can't be real. Please tell me it's not the truth."

" I'm sorry love."Lara couldn't hold back her tears anymore. 

" Shh ~ don't cry. Wait for me. I'll be right back. " 

"O-okay." said Kate right through her tears. She was crying in the kitchen waiting for her wife. Soon she heard their door opening. Kate's footsteps were growing closer and then she saw her. The love of her life rushed to her and hugged her.

" Shhh ~ I'm here now Lara. Everything is going to be alright. I will always stay with you and protect you. Even death couldn't separate us. No one else matters. You only need me."

" I- I loved him. How could such a thing happen to him? "

" I know sweetie. I feel the same " Lara's love was exactly why Kate got rid of him." Let's go on a trip together, just the two of us. You suffered so much. First your death and now your brother's. I will make it up to you. I promise. We will get out of here and clear our thoughts."

" But what about Liam? He isn't d-dead yet. Maybe he will wake up I should.. "

" I also hope for him to recover. I'm also sure that he would like for us to go out. Don't worry about him."

 Kate said to her and tried to help her get up. She guided me to the bathroom. They took really long baths to wash off the pain. Kate couldn't hear her cries anymore so she decided to replace them with pleasure. She started kissing Lara with her lips passionately. Moans could be heard throughout the whole mansion as their made love in their room the whole night.

" Do you like the trip ?"

 Asked Kate. A few weeks after the clinical death of Lara's brother they went to Cyprus to soften her pain." Of course, I do. Thank you for doing this for me." 

Lara answered leaning closer to Kate and kissing her on her lips. The trip made her forget about all of the mess she suffered from in just a few months. Thanks to her caring lover she will quickly recover. 

" I love you, Kate."

 Lara's smile was so gentle and her eyes were filled with emotions.

" I love you too Lara" 

Kate's eyes were also filled with emotions as she kissed her lover on her lips. Nothing will separate them now. They're going to leave together in happiness to the end of their lives.
