Tokyo, Japan
"Say, why are we after these monkeys again?" Taehyung adjusted his grip around the bag slung over his shoulders. Glancing at his friend with a curious brow. "This is quite the hassle just for some figurines."
"We're not after all," Jimin corrected him and stopped when reaching underneath the vent in the museum's basement, "Just one. The one with the sapphire in his embrace."
"Yeah, that. Why are we even bothering?"After getting rid off their custodial staff disguises, Jimin revealed the blueprint plan from underneath the overall and laid it out on the ground.
"Because that along with the document we obtained in Austria will lead us to the actual treasure, duh," he frowned as his index finger traced over the piece of paper, eventually finding their current position. There. His hand went up to his hidden earpiece then.
"Yoongi, you hear me?"It rustled before a bored voice anwered on the other line. "Yeah, in position."
"Alright. Did you see anyone out of place?"
"Yeah, tons of cops pretending to be normal gallery visitors," the older one chuckled lightly.
"Huh, so pops did figure it out after all."
"He may be an idiot sometimes, but he isn't that dumb," Taehyung mumbled then, "It was a quite easy one."
"Indeed," Jimin nodded, not the slightest bothered by it. The riddle's easiness served a purpose after all. His lips tucking into a smug grin, "But he surely didn't notice the second one and missed it. Bet he felt too proud of himself to question the rest."
Predicting his opponent's thought process and actions was a key factor in this profession and Jimin had always been a clever boy.
"Let's hope you're right," Taehyung beside him sighed. Not as certain about it as the probability was quite certainly fifty-fifty for Seokjin to crack the second half of the message as well. Although he trusted his friend and hoped he was right, they had to still be prepared for the worst case. The dyed-blonde only huffed jokingly. "I'm always right!"
Taehyung gave him a doubtful expression while they could hear Yoongi laughing dryly through the in-ear transmitters. And Jimin rolled his eyes.
"Fine, maybe not always. But ninty percent of the time."
"Sure."
"Yoongi, we'll switch off the lights for exactly five seconds. You sure that's enough time?" he said then, switching topics and going back to their actual heist plan.
A scoff was heard. "Did I ever need longer?"
Jimin smiled. It was true, Yoongi was fast as lightning when it was about cutting something - as he'd put it - useless with his sword. This time thelong weapon being disguised as a cane, perfectly fitting his own disguise of an old man. Like his in-ear which was camouflaged as a deaf-aid. And this time surely wouldn't be an exception.
"Alright, I'll count down. One.." His finger hovered over the switch in the fuse box. "Two.." It touched it. "Three." And pressed it down.
Before anyone even understood what was going on, the lights were back on after exactly five seconds. And Yoongi walked away like nothing had happened. "Done."
"Did they react?"
"Yeah, some are nervously - and not obvious at all - speaking into their collars." He chuckled amused.
"You're probably not better though," Taehyung countered with a smirk, "An old man talking to himself., Not suspicious at all."
"Some people do talk to themselves," Yoongi retorted.
"Okay, my cue," Jimin interrupted their bickering and pulled out a radio device, switching it into the right frequency. He cleared his throat then to prepare his voicefor the pitch change. "We were just informed by the maintenance team this small electrical abnormaly was normal and caused due to a light earthquake. No need to let your guard down.""Roger" one of the agents upstairs answered.
He turned off the device, chuckling contently. "Yoongi, did they buy it?"
"Seems so. They're back to pretending being normal visitors and observing the art pieces."
"Good. Now phase three. Taehyung?"
"Yeah, yeah. On it," he sighed and put the bag finally down. He got his magnum out of its holster, putting the silencer on and taking his position. Shooting precisely three times on the three studs of the security bars covering the vent. Knocking them all out.
