"did you just wake up?!" Heather exclaims just having finished straightening her hair

"nope i'm ready to leave" her sister says sarcastically motioning to the oversized tupac shirt and stained nike pros she's in

"it's literally the first day, I can not be late!" Heather whines seeing how carefree her sisters acting

"okay chill, i'll just get changed, have some breakfast then i'll do my hair in the car" Avery widens her eyes at heathers dramatics

"whatever, just hurry up" Heather leaves their bathroom, unplugging her straightener in the process

"Mhm" Avery mumbles grabbing her toothbrush

"Avery, you like know where the office is right?" Heather asks from the passengers seat while fixing her makeup

"It shouldn't be hard to find" the girl shrugs in the backseat

"Okay so it's like fine if i go and meet up with Connie and Becca when we get there?" She asks shutting her mirror

"do whatever you want Heather" Avery says nonchalantly as Debs car pulls up infront of the school

"mom I can still invite everyone over for friday right?" Heather asks while unbuckling herself

"Yep, i'm still scheduled to go to Minnesota" Deb nods while kissing Heathers head, "have a great first day"

Heather hops out the car and is immediately swarmed with friends

"bye Deb have a good day" Avery smiles at the woman before attempting to leave, "oh wait honey!"

"Call me if you wanna come home, big days can be tough - especially in new countries" Deb nods to the girl standing outside the car. She simply nods with a smile before shutting the car door

Avery watches as Heather settles with her friends on the steps of the entrance already touching up her makeup again.

She puffs her cheeks out looking over the lawn confused, unaware of the multiple groups of people staring at her

'that's gotta be her'
'no shit sherlock she got out of the same car as Heather'
'Bro fuck up she's coming!'

Brandt, Dustin and Alex all stiffened by the entrance as they saw Avery approaching them, though they were quickly disappointed when she walked straight past them and to a slightly familiar face - Mayas older brother, Shuji.

"Hey uh do you know where the office is?" They hear her ask him with a seemingly strong Australian accent, though Avery could barely hear it

"yeah ive been here a couple years" Shuji begins as he directs you into the building

The trio watch as she smiles gratefully at him before following him like a lost puppy

While they could've stared longer they snapped out of it and began catching up with their other friends

"so where's the accent from?" the guy i'm walking with asks with a grin

"What accent?" I eye him jokingly, he just shakes his head laughing before perking up
