Avery POV

"where's heather?" I ask Connie as we walk to music, noticing her and Beccas absence

"Alex totally went off at her this morning. Something about ruining spin the bottle at hers" Connie leaned in to gossip

"shit" I reply thinking back to the game and what she could've done

"he only had one turn" I remember, waiting for Connie to reply

"Yeah and he didn't get a kiss, Miranda left, then Heather, then you." She shrugs as we turn into music

"didn't think he was that kinda guy, I mean he could get a kiss from Anna Kone anyday anytime" Connie laughs as I jokingly scold her for being rude

We have a total of 4 seconds before the bell rings and the teacher begins talking

"I have some very exciting news for you-" the teachers cut off by some kid at the back

"Alex Nolan is dating again!"

everyone in class looks at him weirded out, while the news did spread like wildfire and spark many peoples interest, it was weird to intervene just to announce it

"I mean like.. if your a girl that more exciting" he covers up while playing with his fingers, that's so cute.

"Maybe just like.. yknow, whole school is talking about it. I'm not weird" He quickly defended, "you guys are weird"

the teacher shakes his head before continuing with his announcement, "this Friday night is trail-views middles night of amazing music" he starts, "which means the band and the chorus will be performing for the whole school"

Me and Connie look at eachother with goofy smiles plastered on our faces knowing we probably got one note each while the rest of the class get excited

"and what's more," the teacher continues "you'll all be performing an original piece of music, written by your truly" He rubs his hands together as if he expects applause

realising he won't get any he just proceeds to his next sentence, "you'll find your music on the stands"

"I literally got two notes" Connie shakes her head with a smile

"I got.. a line and a lil note from the teacher" I narrow my eyes to read it 'try out for vocal solo'

"i've heard you sing and I don't blame him for wanting you to try out" Connie shrugs as she reads through the music sheet

"alright let's try the piece, shall we?" the music teacher speaks again, now sitting on his chair

Everyone starts playing and me and Connie just look at eachother blankly knowing we get the bare minimum at the end

we're exchanging looks when Maya starts going haywire on the drums

"i'm sure she's only meant to hit it once" Connie shakes her head as I laugh

'Alex, you go with Anna'
as the teacher finishes the pairings she gets to the back of the class where i'm sitting and realises there's an odd number of students

"Avery, go join Anna and Alex's group? if not you can join Dustin and Sam up front" She says

I nod and get up to where Anna and Alex sitting

"sup Aves, you with us?" Alex asks as Anna fixes her hair

"yeah" I nod while taking a seat at the desk infront of us, "you smell nice" I hear anna mutter to alex
