"if your name didn't have a H your name would heater" I say to heather while moving some pasta around in my bowl

Heather looks up at me slowly before responding, "that's probably why i'm so hot" she nods, halfway used to my random comments

"wouldn't it be eater?" Dustin asks with a mouth full of sandwich

"No are you dumb?" I look at him plainly as he chuckles

"yo" Brandt greets as he sits between connie and Alex on the opposite side of the table

"What's good B" Dustin daps him up

"You still coming over tonight?" he asks Alex and Dustin who nod, "sweet, TJ's bringing beers and Sage is
bringing his bong. Tonight's gonna be lit" Brandt nods as the boys giggle with eachother

I turn away from them and face Becca, Heather and Jess

"Are you guys going to Maras thing tonight?" I tilt my head

"It's Maura" Becca corrects with a giggle

"Right Maura" I say with a curt nod

"I can't, Me and Jess booked six flags tickets two months ago - no way were missing it for a lame sleepover" Heather replies smiling at Jess

"they just added a new ride - slingshot" Jess wiggles her brows as Heather squeal before discussing it with her

"You going Becca?" I ask as Becca nods

"Nothing better to do, besides Mauras mom literally called my mom to ask if i can go" Becca rolls her eyes as I laugh

"Maura's mom called my mom too - she said thank you for being kind to her baby or something" I shrug, "I might go i guess"

Becca immediately starts begging me to come, claiming it would be so awkward without me

"Honestly i just don't wanna be home right now, my dad and my oldest brother have been at eachothers throats lately" I shake my head

Becca begins comforting me, I brush it off claiming it doesn't bother me - their yelling just keeps me awake at night

"We should go tonight, and if it sucks ass just get one of your hot brothers to pick us up" Becca offers

"Yuck Bec" I shake my head with a cringe

Maybe I should go, we might've just been too quick to judge on Maura

"Oh my gosh but Maya and Anna are so annoying sometimes" Maura rants to Becca and I as I munch on a slice of pizza

"What'd they do?" I question, swallowing my bite

"Like they're literally late right now, and Maya was talking trash about me to Anna while I was on the line. This is why I perfer hanging with popular kids" Maura sighs while eying me and Becca

"I just hung with them cause I wanted to be nice, like 'hey outcasts - i'm maura and i'm gonna make you feel better cause you are literally crying in the corner right now'" Maura laughs as me and Becca side eye her

"And then one thing leads to another and we're getting best best friends, like what? I could've gotten so many other superlatives but Anna and Maya stopped me and just begged me to ask people to vote us best best friends - like people literally told me, 'Maura you could literally be heartthrob' or like, 'maura you could be biggest flirt' and Alex and Dustin even said that they voted me and them for best couple" Maura shrugs with a big grin

"Really?" I lower my brows, "cause I filled my form with them and Alex wrote 'Dustin's mom + Alex' and Dustin refused to show me his cause im a really close friend of theirs or whatever"
