PART 9

INTERMISSION - One Year Ago

"What the hell are we even doing?" Cartman asked as Clyde did the intro to his video.

The latter turned and grinned widely at him. "Water park tag!" He exclaimed. "Kyle's gonna be coming after us."

"I am?" Kyle questioned from two feet away.

"Yeah!" Clyde exclaimed. "Uhh I think everyone else already ran the fuck away."

"DAMN RIGHT WE DID!!" Kenny screamed from the other end of the indoor water park, which was called, horribly, The Slippery Slidey Hole.

"One..." Kyle began counting with hardly any warning.

"OH SHIT!" Clyde exclaimed, booking it. The ProGo in his hand shook violently as he charged away, huffing heavily. Cartman ran in the opposite direction of him as Kyle counted.

"Eight!" He yelled loudly. "Nine! Ten!" Kyle's eyes fluttered open, a wide grin spreading across his face.

"Ready or not~" He yelled. "I'm coming for you!!"

There were ten people Kyle had to tag in order to win, and he had thirty minutes to do so. The park wasn't huge, but it was still big enough that there was plenty of room to run around and hide behind objects. He picked his targets based on how difficult he judged they would be to catch. He knew most of them would provide some difficulty in doing so, but he also knew he was quick and smart.

Eric would have been his first target, but the other, he knew, was extremely clever even if he wasn't too fast. He thought next about Clyde, but concluded that everyone else would likely assist him in staying in the game. So he chose a different target.

"Butters~" He called, slowly moving along the ground level as he searched for the other. "I'll find you~"

Butters hid behind a wall on top of the platform next to him, quietly listening for any indication that Kyle was near him. He yelled as he looked to the other side of the platform, and there was Kyle, running toward him. Butters tried to jump up and bolt down the stairs, but Kyle tagged him within a few seconds.

He popped up next to and behind almost all of his victims. He found himself struggling to catch Sophie, and halfway through the chase he gave up and ran after Clyde instead. Cartman, Tweek, Corey, and Scott were out within the first ten minutes of the chase, moving quickly to join Butters as he sat on a tube in the half-pipe attraction.

Kyle struggled as he chased Bradley down, climbing stairs as the other tried to catch him. He made it to the top of the platform, where two slides awaited. Only one of them was allowed to go down the slide at any one time, so Bradley could only hope to get down before Kyle. However, when the two reached the top, Kenny, who'd already been there, turned and yelled to Bradley.

"WE'RE GOING IN THE SLIPPERY SLIDEY HOLES!!" He yelled, turning and shoving himself down the slide. Bradley jumped into the second slide, laughing as he went down. Kyle was stranded at the top, watching as the two disappeared into the abyss. However, the moment Bradley popped out of the slide, Kyle tagged him, and the former blinked at him confusedly, and suddenly Kyle was gone. Bradley's confusion never left.

His gaze shot over to the side as Clyde gasped and charged away, and immediately he was running after the shorter with a maniacal grin on his face. He very easily caught up to him, reaching out to tag him, but suddenly Tolkien was in the way, taking the blow for Clyde.

"NOOOO!!!" Clyde screamed, halting as Tolkien dramatically fell to the floor. Kyle glanced up at him hardly a moment later.

"Oh shit-" Clyde said, forgetting about his lost love and booking it in the opposite direction.
