𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐍 - 𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆"sarah? you're in first." the innocent officer sounded like a nefarious criminal to sarah, the words felt heinous to her.
escaping the chair, she turns to look at the other friends and offers a worried look, before turning around and following the officer. analysing the station for anything that could help her figure out who the killer is, but nothing.
do the police in this town even do their job?
opening the door to the room, she steps inside and takes a seat in front of an officer she has never seen before.
"hello sarah, i am detective stern. i am the new head of this investigation." holding his hand out to sarah, sarah took it and shook it.
"so today, i have been asked to question you on the severed hand you found in your kitchen." he looked at the file below, before meeting sarahs eyes. "can you tell me everything you know."
"it's hard to even begin" she took a moment to breathe and collect herself before looking back up at the officer.
"the killer has been calling me, ever since my friend hannah died." the detective asked her to pause before he added something, "when was your first call?"
"well the first time i spoke to the killer was after my attack in the school, it was just before gords attack and jesse was with me." she lost her expression when talking about gord, "but i don't think that was the first time he tried to call me."
"when do you think he first tried to call you?" he further questioned sarah.
"it was the day after hannahs death, i was in first period and my phone went off. i had just saw a figure standing outside the window, staring at me." her voice began to trail off as she lead herself through the events.
"so i asked to be excused, and thats when ethan and i got attacked by the killer." she looked out the window to ethan, he was sat there messing with his hands in a nervous manner.
"so what i'm hearing is, both times you have seen this killer, you were with someone?" he furrowed his brows.
"yes. so i don't think it's them, i don't think it's any of my group." she confidently replied. "well sarah, we have reason to believe it is someone from your group."
"what? why?" her voice came out panicked and her hands started to shake. could it really be one of them? would they really do that to her?
"because they are specifically targeting you." he looked her in the eyes, he knew how hard this was for her but it's his job.
"but that doesn't mean anything? anybody could hate me for any reason." defensiveness raised in her tone, she refused to believe her friends would do this to her.
"sarah, i'm going to have to ask you to calm down, okay? we need suspects to effectively investigate, it doesn't mean that it is one of them." her breathing became more controlled knowing that the police didn't really have anything on her friends. they were just suspects by default. "plus we don't think it's ethan or jesse anymore. you gave them an airtight alibi."
