"Hey Tanjiro, Y/n! You guy's on your way to final selection?" Akito said while handing a bag to an old woman.

"Yup! We finally sliced the boulder!" I said with an ear-to-ear smile. Akito had known about the Demon Slayer corps for a while. It was Urokodaki who saved him as a child from a  demon attack.

"That's great, you two, be careful on that mountain and come back in one piece." He warned

"We will!" Tanjiro smiled

We arrived at the foothill of the mountain; there were wisteria trees all around. It was beautiful. The purple hue danced on Tanjiro, and I's bodies. It felt so relaxing. One thing puzzled me. They weren't supposed to bloom in this season. How odd.

"Woah, so many people," I said under my breath.

Some that stuck out to me were a boy with vibrant yellow hair, another boy with a mohawk hairstyle, and a girl with a beautiful butterfly hairpin. Two girls were in the middle, one with white hair and the other with black. They started to speak.

"Thank you for joining the final selection, there are hungry demons beyond this point, and you will have to survive for seven days. With that said, let the final selection begin." They said simultaneously.

Everyone began rushing up the mountain, and I lost Tanjiro in the process. When I looked behind me, he suddenly wasn't there. It was going to be fine. He said something to me before we went in.

"If we lose each other, follow Kamari, and I'll find you again." His sweet words rang through my head

I suddenly heard a growl, "I haven't tasted human flesh in a long time." The demon moved a single inch, and I read his attack.

"Star breathing, first form: Heavenly Body." I sucked in a breath, bringing my sword forward and quickly decapitating him.
