Claudia had returned to the paddock safely with Jack in her arms just before the race was about to begin.
Toto hands her a pair of headphones to hear Lewis and the the cars finish their formation lap.
"It's lights out and away we go!"
The race had started and Claudia was sitting beside Toto as they watched the race together.
Max had a dnf, putting the two ferraris and Lewis into the top three positions. Claudia only hoped that Lewis would be able to get past them into p1, but it looked like it wasn't happening today. The two ferraris had come out victorious in p1 and p2 while Lewis got p3, which she was still proud of.
Claudia had walked out of the garages to watch Lewis stand on the podium. While she would never admit it out loud, she was also proud of Charles for p1 and Carlos for p2.
She watched lewis walk out and immediately she started clapping and smiling at him. When it was time for the champagne, Lewis decided to pour most of it on Claudia just to get a reaction out of her. While he was doing it, Charles noticed him staring at someone and followed his eyesight to see Claudia being covered in champagne while smiling.
For some reason, that was a sight Charles wanted to see at every race. He had only met her once but there was something so alluring about her that leaves him wanting more.
Lewis went to go clean up and celebrate with the team, and Claudia took this time to call Rory who was watching the race at home. After their phone conversation, she turned around to walk towards mercedes but bumped right into a hard chest making her drop her phone.
"Oh, i'm so sorry about that!" Claudia bends down to pick up her phone and meets the beautiful green eyes of the one person she wanted to ignore.
Charles fucking Leclerc.
"No that's alright, it was my fault as well. I wasn't looking at where i was going."
The two of them just stared at each other for a couple seconds before she finally breaks the silence.
"Congratulations on your race Charles, p1 must feel pretty good, yeah?"
"Thank you Claudia, and yeah it feels amazing to have come out in first." he says while blushing a little bit.
Claudia tried to hide her smile when she saw his cheeks turning red, but couldn't help but let a small smile slip out.
She had tried her hardest to get rid of any thoughts about Charles after the encounter they had at the bar. She would be lying if she said that she wasn't glad it was Charles who ran into her because she secretly loved that it was him. But that doesn't stop all those thoughts in her head and returned to her normal emotionless face, which Charles did happen to notice.
He was confused as to why she was smiling one second and went back to her bitchy self, and thought he did something wrong. He opened his mouth to say something, but of course Daniel had interrupted the pair.
"Hey there's my favorite drinking buddy!" Daniel lets out as he goes to bring Claudia into a big hug and ruffles up her hair.
"You know if you were anyone else, i would've knocked your fucking head off Daniel for touching me."
Daniel just lets out a big laugh and goes to try to ruffle her hair up again but she stops him. "Don't push your limits now." She points at him and he laughs.
Pierre than walks by and couldn't help but stop and talk to the small group. Claudia notices him walking towards them and slightly smiles at him, "Pierre Gasly right?"
His face instantly brightens up and has a large smile on his face (not bigger than when he's with Yuki though) at the thought of her knowing who she was. He then puts on a confident smirk.
"Fan of mine, i see." She only lifts one eyebrow and smirks back as she points to Charles and says "Actually i heard from mr Leclerc over here that you're my biggest fan." As she recalls their conversation from France.
Charles eyes go wide and tries to muster up a sentence when Pierre looks at him. "You told her?!"
"Well i was slightly tipsy and it may have come out." Charles lightly shrugs and awkwardly looks away.
"Well there is no point in hiding it now i guess." The frenchman says slightly embarrassed.
"Don't be embarrassed Pierre, i'm always happy to meet my fans." Claudia teases him and smirks at him.
Pierre was about to say something back when Daniel started talking.
"Are you coming to the party later tonight Clauds? I'm sure Lewis told you all about it and as my drinking buddy, you have to come."
"I would love to come as i'm in desperate need of alcohol right now, but i already promised my coach that i'll be back before tomorrow afternoon. I have a game and i need to be prepared."
"That's too bad, i'm sure everyone would have loved you there."
Pierre and Daniel bid their goodbyes and she was left alone with Charles.
"Well i think it's time for me to go and say goodbye to Lewis and the rest of the mercedes team." Claudia speaks up.
"Yeah go ahead, but it was nice seeing you again Claudia!"
Claudia couldn't help but slightly smile at that, and she hates herself for that. How something so simple as that sentence made her want to kiss him on the spot, but of course she wasn't going to show it.
She turns to walk away and takes about three steps before Charles calls out to her again.
"Wait! Before you go, uhm, this might sound a little strange and rushed as we only met one time, but um could i possibly maybe have your number?" The monegasque man lets out shyly as he rubs the back of his neck.
Claudia hesitates with her answer because she knows it would be the better option for her for to say no and just walk away, but it was Charles we're talking about. He was slightly becoming more nervous as she stood there and he thought she was about to reject him when she finally speaks up.
"Um yeah, sure, i'd like that." Charles lets out another happy smile as Claudia let out a real genuine smile and answer for him. She grabs her phone from her pocket and they exchange numbers.
